Walter (Bud) Job, age 87, passed away with his family by his side on February 23, 2024 in Rochester, MN as a result of complications after surgery. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bud was born in Edgeley, ND on January 7, 1937 to Jacob Job and Christina (Ruether) Job. He attended school in Glenmore Township. In 1954 and 1955, he farmed with his father before moving to Oregon where he operated a dairy farm for seven years. He was married while in Oregon and had three children: Sherry, Larry, and Walter Job Jr. (Fritz).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He returned to Windsor, ND in 1966 and in 1967 began operating a dairy and grain farm. Later, in 1976, he sold the dairy operation and started the Windsor Farm Supply in Windsor. In 1978, he began raising and racing thoroughbred horses and also invested in beef cattle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 1977, he married Betty George from Tappen, ND. From that time forward, they worked and farmed side by side. Their son Jason was born in 1979.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bud loved horses, and in 1983 founded the Windsor Horse Club. Over the years, the club provided trail ride events and hosted many horse shows that brought crowds and contestants from near and far. Bud loved fishing, hunting, riding horses and traveling. He was an avid storyteller and loved sitting and visiting with everyone. His ready smile and friendly demeanor invited all into his circle. If any venue had music, Bud was the first and last on the dance floor! True to his cowboy way, Bud could be found watching western movies in his spare time, and there is not one that he did not see! Bud touched so many lives, and he was a blessing to all who knew him and called him friend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bud is survived by his loving wife Betty; sons, Larry of Cogswell, ND, Walter Jr. (Fritz) of Finley, ND, Jason (Loeghan), Valley Center, CA; brother, Donald (Carol) Job, Vancouver, WA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Sherry Job-Harrison, granddaughter Sonia Harrison, brothers Elmer, Ernest, Arthur, and Harold; sisters Elsie Dallmann, Viola Roth, Lillian Skattum, and Edna Smith, Betty Ost; half-brother, Ludwig Job; half-sister Katherine Hollingsworth, Ida Oberlander, and Eva Muller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Heather Dehne, Marietta Ganser, and Scott Wanzek for their support during this difficult time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
