Recipients were selected from the service areas for each of Unison Bank\u2019s North Dakota branch locations. This year\u2019s recipients were Madelyn Tyson, Kya Wiest and Justin Tschosik.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jamestown High School senior, Madelyn Tyson, was selected as one of the bank\u2019s scholarship recipients. Tyson plans to attend the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, N.D., to major in music with the hope of becoming an orchestra instructor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eligible applicants included Jamestown, N.D., Linton, N.D., Wishek, N.D., and surrounding area high school graduating seniors who are, or whose parent(s) or guardian(s) are customers of Unison Bank and planning to attend a college, university, vocational or technical post-secondary school. Each applicant\u2019s scholarship, letter of recommendation and transcript were graded by the Unison Bank Scholarship Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cReceiving this scholarship is not just a recognition of my achievements, but a profound affirmation of belief in my potential,\u201d said recipient, Kya Wiest. \u201cWith heartfelt gratitude, I embrace this opportunity to pursue my dreams, knowing that it is not just a gift, but a catalyst for the future I aspire to create.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wiest, a senior at Wishek Public School, was selected as a recipient of the 2023-24 Spirit Scholarship. With the $1,000 scholarship, Wiest plans to attend the University of Mary in Bismarck, N.D., for nursing school with plans to return to the community of Wishek to work as a Registered Nurse until later going back to school with hopes of obtaining her Nurse Practitioner license.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The third scholarship recipient selected was Justin Tschosik, a senior at Linton High School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWinning the Unison Bank Spirit Scholarship is a great honor for me. This scholarship not only provides financial support, but also shows recognition of my hard work and dedication,\u201d said Tschosik. \u201cReceiving this scholarship means a lot to me. It will give me a variety of opportunities and will allow me to focus more on my studies and future goals. I am truly grateful for this scholarship and excited about the positive impact it will have on my future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tschosik plans to attend the University of Mary in Bismarck, N.D., in the fall to study exercise science. Tschosik has been accepted into the university\u2019s physical therapy early assurance program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unison Bank Vice President of Marketing, Ally Knudtson, shared, \u201cWe thank all the students who have applied for our scholarship.
