{"id":283547,"date":"2024-06-17T08:05:44","date_gmt":"2024-06-17T13:05:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=283547"},"modified":"2024-06-20T13:47:11","modified_gmt":"2024-06-20T18:47:11","slug":"news-and-notes-from-mayor-carlsrud-50","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=283547","title":{"rendered":"News And Notes From Mayor Carlsrud"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Valley City ND &#8211; Hello Folks for all you Dads out there I hope yours was a great Father\u2019s Day!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last week was a wonderfully busy week with meetings, construction projects&nbsp; and many activities related to our Community Days Celebration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There was plenty of music around town with Greg Hager, 8th Hour, Myron Sommerfeld and His Orchestra along with other combos.&nbsp; Thank you for your great sounds everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Friday evening the Bridge City Cruisers gathered about 150 cars for display and an easy cruise around the area followed by a movie at the Bandshell.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the Larry J. Robinson Center for the Arts Friday was the third annual Peggy Lee Day featuring Peggy Lee\u2019s poetry and music presented by Myron Sommerfeld and His Orchestra.&nbsp; Following the concert was an ice cream &amp; coffee social.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Saturday was breakfast at the airport before the parade.&nbsp; There was a great turn out of parade units and spectators. A number of St. Raphael residents joined the crowd too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A huge part of Saturday was Bridge City Cruisers\u2019 \u201cRally in the Valley\u201d.&nbsp; This year the Rally brought about 230 cars, pickups, tractors and the like to town.&nbsp; Several contests, awards and \u201cvalve cover car racing\u201d were there for participants and spectators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TO ALL the people, businesses &amp; clubs who facilitated, planned and executed the aforementioned events, thank you.&nbsp; Blessings and get some rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The North Dakota State Board of Higher Education authorized naming the VCSU Center for the Arts the \u201cLarry J.
