The pilot, Pierson Chase, stated that he was coming from spraying south of Glen Ullin heading back to Hebron when the engine began acting abnormally, surging and sputtering. Chase attempted to make it to the Hebron airstrip when the engine quit, and he attempted to land on Morton County Road 89 just north of County Road 140. The small aircraft was pulled into the ditch. Chase was uninjured in the incident and contacted proper authorities to report.
