Lola Joyce Bruns, 89, of Valley City, North Dakota, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at SMP Health-St. Raphael.  Per Lola\u2019s request a private graveside service will be held.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lola Joyce Metcalf was born to Byron and Leila (Schroeder) Metcalf on October 28, 1934.  She attended College School and graduated from College High School in 1952. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lola married Howard E. Bruns on May 30, 1954.  They farmed in Noltimier Township until his death on March 18, 1962.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lola was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church.  She was The Farmers Union-youth leader for 14 years.  Lola was also a member of Buttercup Homemakers where she held various offices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lola was employed at Mercy Hospital in the housekeeping department for 14 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, only sister and a nephew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lola leaves two sons, Jack Bruns and Bob (Anne) Bruns; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
