JRMC – Jamestown Regional Medical Center announced the expansion of its surgical options to include pediatric dentistry. JRMC has partnered with Prairie Rose Family Dentists<\/strong><\/a>, where Dr. Adam Woroniecki<\/strong><\/a> will provide pediatric dental procedures with sedation at least twice a month.<\/p>\n\n\n

Until now, the closest available pediatric dental surgery was over an hour away. Access to local procedures eliminates the time spent traveling, providing a faster and more convenient pathway to the familiar surroundings of home for recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWith JRMC and their willingness to open O.R. time and care for these patients, they will be able to seek care closer to home,\u201d shared Dr. Carrie Orn of Orn Family Dentistry. \u201cAnd having this service in town, it will make it possible for these patients to be seen more quickly for treatment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Orn is the past president of the North Dakota Dental Association and was one of the local dentists who urged JRMC to consider making a block of time available in the medical center\u2019s operating rooms to meet this need. Jamestown dentists indicated a regular pattern of referring pediatric patients outside of the community for procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe learned many children in our area have required sedation for necessary dental procedures, often traveling hours away to Fargo or Bismarck,\u201d said JRMC President & CEO Mike Delfs. \u201cWe have three state-of-the-art surgical suites and a very skilled group of anesthesia providers \u2013 it made a lot of sense to meet this need locally.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am so thankful to JRMC and Prairie Rose Family Dentists for coming together and making this a possibility,\u201d said Dr. Orn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Woroniecki has set up a schedule to accommodate children needing sedation dentistry, with reserved surgical time at JRMC twice monthly. Parents should seek the advice of their local dentist or talk to Prairie Rose Family Dentists to determine if sedation dentistry is necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
