On August 12 at 9:33pm a 2007 Saturn Vue was southbound on 42nd St. approaching 17th Ave in the left turn lane to turn east. At that time a 2011 Kawasaki Ninja driven by Regan Gara was northbound
approaching the intersection. The Saturn began turning, and the Kawasaki motorcycle struck the right rear side of the Saturn. After the initial collision the Kia Sorrento struck the motorcycle.
The Kia Sorrento left the scene. The driver of the Kia Sorrento is currently unknown and is still
under investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The motorcycle and driver, Regan Gara, came to rest in the northbound lane of the
intersection. The Saturn came to rest facing southeast in the intersection. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Regan received treatment for his serious non-life-threatening injuries on scene before being transported to Sanford by ambulance. Regan was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both juveniles were wearing seatbelts and where uninjured in the crash. Their names will not
be released.
