Kathleen Preston, 90 years of age, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at CHI Mercy Hospital, Valley City.  The Celebration of Life service will be 10:30 am Monday, September 23, at Connect Church, Valley City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kathy was born February 1, 1934, in Edmore, ND.  She graduated from Hunter (ND) High School.  Kathy attended Joseph\u2019s Beauty Academy and worked at Sears Beauty Shop in Fargo until her marriage to Floyd Preston on May 23, 1958.  Floyd and Kathy had five children and raised them on the Preston farm north of Tower City, ND.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kathy worked at the Tower View Caf\u00e9 for several years as a baker and cook.  She later worked for the Tower City Senior Center making the senior meals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  Her family loved her cooking, especially her homemade bread, buns and caramel rolls.  Kathy loved to garden and enjoyed her flowers.  She loved to read her Bible and prayed for her family daily.  She always put others first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was a member of the Gideon Axillary and Connect Church, Valley City.  She was a former member of the Tower City Presbyterian Church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kathy is survived by her children and their families: Dan Preston; Linda Elliott and children Brad (Renee), Staci and Derek; Scott Preston (Jody) and children Stephen (Louis), Andrea (Lannis), Brandon and Jordon; Marvin Preston (Tambara) and children Ethen (Cassie) and Eliot (McKenzie); Barb Schmitt (Dean) and children Bryant (Jenny), Breanna and DeAnn (Tom).  She is also survived by her great grandchildren Alizabeth, Aurissa, Greyson, Olivia, Matthew, Nathan, Lucas, Micah, Hudsen, Harvey, James, Franklin, Odin, Alita, Maverick, Griffin, and Harlow; and by her sister Floy (Jim) Lamb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd, son-in-law Dale Elliott and a brother Tom Hassett.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
