This October, in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, JRMC will host JRMC U: <em>High Contrast, Clearer Mammograms<\/em>\u00a0to introduce the public to the latest advancement in breast cancer screening technology \u2013 Contrast Enhanced Digital Mammography (CEDM). The event will be held on Oct. 16 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Two Rivers Activity Center (TRAC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Attendees will learn about CEDM, an innovative imaging tool that is now available at JRMC that enhances traditional mammography to detect breast cancer more accurately. Alongside this technology, the event will feature discussions around the MyRisk\u2122 report for hereditary breast cancer screening, offering valuable insights into genetic risk factors for breast and other cancers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>JRMC Women\u2019s Health providers will lead the event, sharing the most up-to-date screening and exam guidelines to help individuals take control of their health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pinky Swear Headquarters<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>JRMC Radiology team members will also be on hand to share more about making your \u201cPinky Swear\u201d and how JRMC continues to eliminate barriers to early detection. Men, women, young and old will also be invited to join in making a \u201cpinky swear\u201d by voicing their promise to take responsibility for personal health or in support of others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cJRMC is committed to helping the community stay proactive when it comes to health,\u201d said Makenzie Breitbach, JRMC OB-GYN Nurse Practitioner. \u201cThis event is not just about learning the latest in breast cancer screening but about making a personal commitment to take control of individual healthcare or support others in doing the same.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>JRMC offers free monthly educational events aimed at empowering the community with the knowledge needed to make informed health decisions.
