Jamestown – In October, pink takes on a deeper meaning at Jamestown Regional Medical Center. The medical center is transforming into Pinky Swear Headquarters, where a simple childhood gesture \u2013 a pinky swear \u2013 becomes a powerful promise. It is more than just a commitment to personal health; it\u2019s a pledge to loved ones, friends and the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For JRMC, October\u2019s Breast Health Month isn\u2019t just a campaign \u2013 it\u2019s a mission to eliminate excuses, break down barriers and bring healthcare accountability to the forefront.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re not just asking women to schedule their mammograms,\u201d said Chief Nursing Officer Trisha Jungels. \u201cWe\u2019re encouraging everyone to make a promise\u2014to themselves and their loved ones. Whether it\u2019s for your own health or to support someone you care about, we want you to know that you matter and taking care of your health is essential.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The medical center\u2019s team of mammographers, including Maria Benson, Renae Berg and Heather Sobolik, welcomes each woman who steps through the door with the same care and commitment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s about making the experience as comfortable as possible,\u201d said Berg. \u201cI try to keep the conversation light and make sure the focus stays on how strong our patients are. We\u2019ll get through it together.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, JRMC is offering more than just words of encouragement \u2013 they\u2019re rolling out the pink carpet, literally. Every woman who receives a mammogram will experience JRMC\u2019s VIPink experience, ensuring she feels supported from start to finish. With JRMC being the first to offer contrast-enhanced digital mammography (CEDM) in Jamestown, women can have confidence knowing they are receiving state-of-the-art care. CEDM, especially for those with dense breast tissue, gives radiologists a more precise view, making it easier to detect even the smallest of changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a game changer,\u201d said JRMC Radiology Manager Conrad Mitzel. \u201cWhen it comes to detecting breast cancer early, every bit of detail counts and this technology is designed to help us do just that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But even with cutting-edge tools, JRMC knows that some women may still face challenges in getting their screenings. That\u2019s why the medical center has strengthened its No Excuses program, ensuring that no woman \u2013 uninsured, underinsured or otherwise \u2013 must go without the care she needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo Excuses means we\u2019ll help navigate any barriers,\u201d said JRMC Foundation Director Tonya Perkins. \u201cWe are determined to ensure that no woman has to choose between her health and her budget.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Women in the region can access mammograms, pap tests and advanced screenings through the No Excuses program, all without income restrictions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll work with you, whether through Women\u2019s Way, No Excuses or a combination,\u201d said Sobolik. \u201cWe are here to help, not judge.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
