It is part of the ongoing Be There campaign, which encourages the community to come together to celebrate small victories, offer second chances, and provide consistent support to those struggling with addiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <em>Be There<\/em>&nbsp;mural represents hope, recovery, and the power of community to uplift one another. During the Summer Vikes on Central event in September 2024, community members added positive images and phrases to the mural. Contributions included supportive messages like, &#8220;I hope you know how loved you are,&#8221; &#8220;Keep going,&#8221; and reminders that &#8220;The world needs you.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe hope this mural serves as a beacon of hope and understanding,\u201d said Katie Beyer, City-County Health District Administrator. \u201cIt reflects our community\u2019s commitment to supporting each other and working together to help those who feel isolated or misunderstood as they recover from substance use disorders.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The mural&#8217;s message focuses on three key points:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li><strong>BeThere for Small Victories<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Celebrate the small steps in recovery, no matter how small.<\/li><li><strong>BeThere for Second Chances<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Everyone deserves the opportunity to rebuild their life, free from stigma.<\/li><li><strong>BeThere to Check In<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Consistent support from friends, family, and the community can make all the difference.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>More than just a work of art, this mural is a reminder that together, the Valley City community can create a supportive environment for individuals in recovery. It aligns with wider efforts in Barnes County to address opioid misuse, reduce stigma, and increase access to treatment and support services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhether it\u2019s offering a kind word, listening, or checking in on a loved one, we encourage everyone to Be There,\u201d added Meghan Velure from the City-County Health District.
