BISMARCK, ND<\/strong> \u2013 Governor-Elect Kelly Armstrong today announced numerous members of his Cabinet, highlighting a blend of new appointees and experienced leaders to guide North Dakota\u2019s future. The appointments reflect Armstrong\u2019s vision for driving economic growth, embracing innovation, and maintaining a steady course of governance that benefits all North Dakotans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The Armstrong-Strinden Administration will be committed to building on North Dakota\u2019s strengths while embracing new opportunities to take us into the future<\/em>,” said Governor-Elect Kelly Armstrong<\/strong><\/em>. “Our Cabinet reflects a balance of continuity and fresh perspectives, ensuring we have the expertise to tackle today\u2019s challenges and the vision to seize tomorrow\u2019s opportunities.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Armstrong introduced three new appointees to his administration:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joe Morrissette, Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joe Morrissette has nearly 30 years of experience working with the North Dakota state budget, state revenue forecast, and tax policy. He previously served as Director of the Office of Management and Budget under Governor Doug Burgum, where he was responsible for overseeing the state\u2019s fiscal policy. Morrissette is a Certified Public Accountant and a graduate of the University of Mary, where he also served as a faculty member in accounting and finance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It is a privilege to join the Armstrong administration and help ensure North Dakota remains fiscally strong<\/em>,” said Joe Morrissette<\/strong>. “I look forward to working with the Governor-Elect and his team to deliver a budget that supports the state\u2019s priorities while maintaining fiscal discipline.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chris Schilken, Commissioner of the Department of Commerce<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chris Schilken recently served as Commissioner of the Governor\u2019s Office of Economic Development in South Dakota, where he oversaw more than 200 projects and spearheaded initiatives in value-added agriculture, advanced manufacturing, infrastructure development, and workforce recruitment. His leadership contributed to billions in capital investment and the creation of over 10,000 jobs. Schilken began his economic development career as Executive Director of Forward Devils Lake and is a graduate of Minot State University. He resides in Glenburn with his wife, Erika, and their four children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Corey Mock, Chief Information Officer of the North Dakota Information Technology Department (NDIT)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Corey Mock has over 15 years of experience in public policy, government affairs, and organizational leadership. In the state legislature, he served as Appropriations Ranking Member and chaired the Information Technology Committee, where he helped shape policies for energy, transportation, and government finance. He is also a realtor and leadership consultant, committed to helping organizations thrive. Mock is a graduate of the University of North Dakota and lives in Grand Forks with his three children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I am honored to accept this appointment and grateful to Governor-elect Armstrong for this opportunity to serve North Dakota in a new capacity<\/em>,” said Corey Mock.<\/strong> “Technology plays an increasingly crucial role in delivering efficient, secure government services to our citizens. I look forward to working with the dedicated professionals at ITD to advance North Dakota’s position as a leader in digital government.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
