Bismark \u2013 VCSU Men’s and Women’s track and field competed at the Mike Thorson Open hosted by the U of Mary in Bismarck, N.D.

VCSU Track and field recorded 13 top eight finishes and four personal bests. Viking women’s track and field finished with fifth of eight and men’s finished sixth of eight.

Results<\/a>

Viking freshman\u00a0Parker Jacobson<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0finished sixth in the men’s 60-meter recording a time of 7:18 earning three points for the team.\u00a0Tayshaun Robinson<\/a><\/dfn>, a freshman, recorded a school record 8:32 in 60-meter hurdles earning six points for the team score and third place in the event.\u00a0Zeke Barnick<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0recorded a high jump of 1.93 meters earning second place and eight points. Sophomore\u00a0Aaron Cutshall<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0finished seventh in the long jump with a 6.67-meter jump earning two points. He was followed by freshman\u00a0Jordan Mount<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0who got eighth with a 6.53-meter jump earning one point.\u00a0Cameron Champagnie<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0earned second in the triple jump with a 14.00-meter jump.\u00a0Cody Frounfelter<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0earned three points and sixth with a 13.48-meter weight throw.

The Viking men won 31 points for a sixth place finish on the day.

Senior\u00a0Jasmine Barnes<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0recorded a personal best and school record 800-meter time of 2:24:10 good for second place and eight points for team. Sophomore\u00a0Emma Muggli<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0recorded a personal best with a 1.44-meter high jump earning seventh and two points.\u00a0Emma Bastian<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0recorded 11.26 shot put throw which earned sixth and three points.\u00a0Jade Azure<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0throw 11.05 meters in the shot put good for eighth and one point.\u00a0Caitlin Armbrust<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0earned two points and seventh place with a 9.95-meter triple jump. In the women’s weight throw\u00a0Jade Azure<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0earned four points and fifth place with a 14.58-meter throw.

Viking women earned 20 points good a fifth place team score.
