NDHP – On Dec 19, at approximately 3:42 PM, an NDDOT Snowplow was struck twice
on Interstate 29, near mile marker 172, while actively plowing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The International Snowplow was actively plowing northbound in the left lane, with all
emergency lights activated, when it was struck in the rear by the Ford. The Ford entered the
median where it came to rest, having sustained disabling damage to the front.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Kia, which was following the Ford, entered the snow fog created by the crash and
struck the right rear of the International Snowplow. Both units came to rest on the
northbound shoulder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The North Dakota Highway Patrol would like to remind the public that during inclement
weather motorists shall yield to snowplows. NDDOT plow operators work tirelessly to ensure
North Dakota roadways are clear and safe for travel. If unable to safely pass a snowplow, slow
down and follow at a safe distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
