NDSU Opera is thrilled to bring Gilbert and Sullivan\u2019s swashbuckling production of \u201cThe Pirates of Penzance\u201d to the Festival Concert Hall stage this February!
Featuring two casts of NDSU student talent, this hilarious farce will entertain patrons of all ages with its dimwitted young lovers, sentimental pirates, bumbling policemen, and THE very model of a modern Major-General.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The story follows Frederic, a pirate\u2019s apprentice who falls madly in love with Mabel,
the daughter of Major-General Stanley. Frederic plans to whisk her away once he
fulfills his service to the pirate gang on his 21st birthday. But there\u2019s a snag: Frederic
was born on February 29 \u2013 a technicality that will prolong his apprenticeship with the
pirate band for decades. Will he and Mabel ever get to live happily ever after?
Performances of NDSU Opera\u2019s \u201cThe Pirates of Penzance\u201d are at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 13, 14,
and 15 in NDSU Festival Concert Hall, with a matinee performance at 2 p.m. on
Sunday, Feb. 16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, $10 for non-NDSU students, and free for

Festival Concert Hall is in NDSU\u2019s Reineke Fine Arts Center at 1511 12th Ave N in Fargo.
Due to construction of the Challey School of Music building addition, patrons will
need to use the south entrances of Reineke Fine Arts Center to access Festival
