The University of Jamestown men&#8217;s volleyball team lost in five sets against #8 Westcliff University in their first match up at the Pirate Invitational in Parkville, Mo Thursday evening at the Breckon Sports Center<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>GAME INFORMATION<\/strong><br><strong>Score<\/strong>: Jamestown 2, #8 Westcliff University 3 (25-22, 25-18, 25-18, 25-23, 15-13)<br><strong>Records<\/strong>: Jamestown 1-3, #8 Westcliff 1-0<br><strong>Location<\/strong>: Breckon Sports Center | Parkville, Mo<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>INSIDE THE BOXSCORE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/mens-volleyball\/roster\/tomasz-swiderski\/18134\">Tomasz Swiderski<\/a><\/dfn>\u201417 kills, 1 block, 3 digs, 1 ace, 1 assist&nbsp;<\/li><li><dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/mens-volleyball\/roster\/michal-niemiec\/18130\">Michal Niemiec<\/a><\/dfn>\u201416 kills, 8 digs, 2 aces, 2 blocks&nbsp;<\/li><li><dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/mens-volleyball\/roster\/gaven-hackley\/18119\">Gaven Hackley<\/a><\/dfn>\u201413 kills, 6 digs, 2 blocks, 1 ace<\/li><li><dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/mens-volleyball\/roster\/ethan-hoffert\/18121\">Ethan Hoffert<\/a><\/dfn>\u20141 ace, 5 digs, 2 assists&nbsp;<\/li><li><dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/mens-volleyball\/roster\/kaden-jenkins\/18124\">Kaden Jenkins<\/a><\/dfn>\u20141 ace&nbsp;<\/li><li>Benjamin Allfred\u20142 kills, 1 block<\/li><li><dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/mens-volleyball\/roster\/tysen-myers\/18129\">Tysen Myers<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;\u2014 6 kills, 1 solo block (2 total), 3 digs&nbsp;<\/li><li><dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/mens-volleyball\/roster\/gabriel-ocasio\/18131\">Gabriel Ocasio<\/a><\/dfn>\u201448 assists, 1 ace, 1 block, 10 digs<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HOW IT HAPPENED<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Warriors were off to a strong start and were on the board first by going on a 3-0 scoring run to start the first set&nbsp;<\/li><li>The Warriors held an 11-7 lead on the Jimmies but a 4-0 scoring run led by a kill by&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/mens-volleyball\/roster\/michal-niemiec\/18130\">Michal Niemiec<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;and two aces by&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/mens-volleyball\/roster\/gabriel-ocasio\/18131\">Gabriel Ocasio<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/mens-volleyball\/roster\/tomasz-swiderski\/18134\">Tomasz Swiderski<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;the Jimmies took a 13-12 lead&nbsp;<\/li><li>The set was back and forth but a late 2-0 score run by the Warriors gave them the first set&nbsp;<\/li><li>In the second the Jimmies went on a 4-0 scoring run going up 8-5 led by two errors and kills by&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/mens-volleyball\/roster\/michal-niemiec\/18130\">Michal Niemiec<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/mens-volleyball\/roster\/tomasz-swiderski\/18134\">Tomasz Swiderski<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;and was enough of a cushion for the Jimmies to take the second set&nbsp;<\/li><li>In the third set the Warriors went on a 3-0 scoring run to take the lead 8-5 and another 3-0 scoring run 24-15 to secure the third set but the Jimmies did finish on their own 3-0 scoring run 24-18&nbsp;<\/li><li>The Jimmies took the ending momentum of the third set and came out in the fourth on another 3-0 scoring run leading but the Warriors answered back and an error by the Jimmies had the fourth tied 8-8&nbsp;<\/li><li>The Warriors went an another 3-0 scoring run which led to a Jamestown timeout and sparked a 6-0 scoring run by the Jimmies to take the lead again 19-16&nbsp;<\/li><li>A pair of kills by Benjamin Allfred and&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/mens-volleyball\/roster\/tomasz-swiderski\/18134\">Tomasz Swiderski<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;sealed the fourth set win to head to a fifth set&nbsp;<\/li><li>The fifth set was a back and forth battle but a short 2-0 scoring run by the Warriors proved to be enough to defeat the Jimmies&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>UP NEXT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Jamestown continues to play in the Pirate Invitational against St. Thomas University (Fla.) at 2 p.m. and Park University at 6 p.m&nbsp;
