Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home Chapel. &nbsp;A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday evening at the Funeral Home. &nbsp;Inurnment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in the Spring. &nbsp;An online guestbook and livestream of Beverly\u2019s service will be available at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lerudmathias.com\/\">www.lerudmathias.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beverly Ann Jewett, the daughter of John and Winnifred (Farrell) Jewett, was born July 2, 1939 in Valley City. &nbsp;Beverly grew up in Valley City and attended Alderman Elementary School and graduated from College High School. &nbsp;After receiving her education, she worked at Red Owl Grocery Store in Valley City. &nbsp;On June 30, 1957 she married the love of her Life, Harry Gierke, at Our Savior\u2019s Lutheran Church in Valley City. &nbsp;The couple lived in Oriska, ND where they raised their four children and shared a life full of love and adventure. &nbsp;Beverly was a devoted wife and mother who was very active in Homemakers Club, Zion Lutheran Church, Oriska School PTO, was a 4-H Leader and was a member of the Valley City Eagles Auxiliary. &nbsp;After her children were older, she was a bus driver for the Oriska School for 28 years. &nbsp;Upon retirement, she enjoyed working at various jobs and transporting vehicles with her husband Harry. &nbsp;Beverly was a loving and strong-willed mother who enjoyed celebrating special occasions with her family. &nbsp;She had a love for horses, was known for her green thumb for gardening and flowers, sewing, baking and her famous popcorn balls for the holidays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beverly is survived by her husband Harry Gierke; her four children, Larry (Janet) Gierke, Debra (Jerry) Lindemann, Diana Mittleider and Linda (Mike Brown) Hoffman-Gierke; her 8 grandchildren, Shane (Tiffany) Kearns, Michael Hoffman, Melissa Pham, Melissa (Monty) Wall, Ashley (Nick) Horner, Katie Jo (Chris) Selfridge, Cassie Hoffman and Samantha (Justin) Lang; 16 Great-Grandchildren; and a sister, Shirley Bailey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Norman Jewett, her father and mother-in-law Harvey Gierke and Elsie Avery, a son-in-law Keith Kearns and an aunt Elva Dittmer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Beverly Gierke, age 85, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025 at SMP Health-St. Raphael in Valley City. &nbsp;A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 6th at the Lerud Mathias Funeral Home Chapel.
