{"id":290634,"date":"2025-01-31T09:32:00","date_gmt":"2025-01-31T15:32:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=290634"},"modified":"2025-02-11T12:13:17","modified_gmt":"2025-02-11T18:13:17","slug":"marilyn-duchscherer-friday-january-31-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=290634","title":{"rendered":"Marilyn Duchscherer &#8211; Friday January 31, 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/duchscherer13125.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/duchscherer13125.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-290635\" width=\"249\" height=\"321\" srcset=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/duchscherer13125.jpg 490w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/duchscherer13125-233x300.jpg 233w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/duchscherer13125-136x175.jpg 136w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 249px) 100vw, 249px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Marilyn Duchscherer, faithful servant, joyfully joined her Lord and Savior on January 31, 2025, at the age of 80 years old, surrounded by her loving family.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marilyn Dorene Duchscherer was born to Lydia and Edward Sukut on February 14, 1944, in Fredonia, ND.\u00a0 She grew up and attended school in Fredonia.\u00a0 After graduation Marilyn attended UND in Grand Forks, ND.\u00a0 She worked at ND Farmers Union in Jamestown and the Stutsman County Court House in the Treasurer\u2019s department.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marilyn met a handsome young beau, Robert (Bob) Duchscherer, who stole her heart.\u00a0 They were married on June 20, 1964, in Jamestown ND where they settled and made themselves a loving and faith filled home. They shared a life full of love for 57 wonderful years until Bob went to his heavenly home on June 26, 2021.\u00a0 Together they raised three children (Tammy, Todd, and Troy) with family and their faith being at the center of it all.\u00a0 They instilled the importance of faith in each of their children.\u00a0 It was as important to them as the breath of life itself.\u00a0 Marilyn loved to travel with Bob and her beautiful children.\u00a0 You could find them most weekends in the summer camping somewhere in ND and SD including many trips to Medora and the Black Hills of SD.\u00a0 Big summer vacations were also a favorite of Marilyn\u2019s.\u00a0 She loved taking her children to see our beautiful country and would carefully plan out all of the details, not to miss any sight-seeing opportunities or adventures on these trips.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marilyn had a heart full of warmth and care, love and compassion for everyone.\u00a0 She was selfless and always put the needs of others before her own.\u00a0 She lived for her family and was so proud of her 3 children, 7 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren with one more being added in July.\u00a0 She spent years creating a home that grandkids loved to visit.\u00a0 So many special memories were made at grandma\u2019s house.\u00a0 The kids will forever cherish the precious sleepovers and time spent there.\u00a0 Marilyn enjoyed and looked forward to these moments just as much as the children.\u00a0 She had such a joyful, fun, kid-at-heart spirit.\u00a0 Some of the many fond memories included dancing in the rain, hot fudge sundae night, and popcorn night.\u00a0 Coffee was a staple at grandma\u2019s house and all the kids looked forward to getting this grown-up drink and sharing it with grandma, with a treat of course.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She also loved time spent at the racetrack with Bob, watching her sons and grandson take part in dirt track racing.\u00a0 Every Saturday night in the summer she and Bob could be found in the fan section cheering on the race team.\u00a0 After Bob passed, she spent every Saturday in the pits with the race team and her whole family there to support them.\u00a0 She also never missed a grandchild, or great-grandchild\u2019s birthday party, sporting event, music program or dance recital.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her love for cooking and baking brought joy to her family.\u00a0 She was notorious at family gatherings for making everyone\u2019s favorites.\u00a0 Some must haves included the wonderful German food and her homemade fudge.\u00a0 Her rhubarb cakes were a family favorite, and grandkids couldn\u2019t wait until their birthdays when they knew without a doubt that Grandma would be bringing this special cake for them.\u00a0 Marilyn had a deep and abiding faith.\u00a0 Not a day went by that she didn\u2019t spend time in prayer for her whole family and devotions to God.\u00a0 She could be found reading her Bible and writing scriptures down or working in her kitchen and listening to worship music.\u00a0 If anyone of her beloved family members had a problem, she always had the scriptures they needed without even looking them up.\u00a0\u00a0 She also had a love of gardening and the outdoors.\u00a0 Spring, summer, and fall, you would always find her out in her yard or garden tending to her precious plants.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marilyn\u2019s immense love extended beyond her immediate family.\u00a0 She deeply loved her sister, many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and extended family.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marilyn is survived by her three children, Tammy (Allen) Falk, Todd (Renae) Duchscherer, Troy (Deidra) Duchscherer; grandchildren, Robert (Lesley) Falk, Christopher Falk, Brittany (Erin) Schmidt, Michelle (Dylan) Carr, Marissa (Javan) Arroyo, Mariah Duchscherer, Matthew Duchscherer (Lauryn Halvorson); great-grandchildren, Quin, Marcus, Grace, Caleb, Lydia, Jamisen, Josie, Ella, James, Jonathan, Jacqueline, Joshua, Caylor, Bensen, Kaiser, Aveah, Amari, and Aliyas; sister, Florence Goehner and many nieces and nephews.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She was preceded in death and embraced in heaven by her adoring husband, Bob, her parents, Lydia and Edward Sukut, grandson Trevor Duchscherer, brother-in-law Marvin Goehner and brother-in-law Michael Duchscherer.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Prayer Service will be held on February 4, 2025 at 7 p.m. at Eddy Funeral Home.\u00a0 A Celebration of Life Service will be held on\u00a0February 5, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Eddy Funeral Home.\u00a0 We invite all family and friends to join us in celebrating her love and faith-filled life.\u00a0 We will treasure every moment we had with her.\u00a0Her love, thoughtful nature, love of God and compassion will be cherished in our memories forever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
