MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. \u2013 North Dakota State softball fell to Minnesota 10-1 Sunday afternoon on the final day of the Gopher Indoor Classic held at U.S. Bank Stadium.

The Bison fell behind in the bottom of the first, as the Gophers scored five runs, including a three-run home run to take a lead that Minnesota would never relinquish.

NDSU would threaten a couple times early in the game, but were unable to score until the fifth when\u00a0Taylinn Warren<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0hit an RBI single to score\u00a0Star Cortez<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0from second.
\u00a0
Minnesota would answer back with a run in the bottom of the fifth. The Gophers then scored a run on an RBI single, followed by another three-run home run, to secure the run-rule victory in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Warren,\u00a0Rylee Henderson<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0and\u00a0Chloe Woldruff<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0recorded the three hits for the Bison in the game.\u00a0Jasmyn Yessian<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0also reached in all three of her at bats, recording three walks, which is the most in a game for the Bison since\u00a0Reanna Rudd<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0had three against Elon last season on February 16.

Savy Williams<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0picked up the loss for the Bison, allowing five runs in an inning of work.\u00a0Piper Reed<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0inherited the bases loaded in the second and recorded a groundout to force at home before a double play out of a jam. She tossed three scoreless innings before allowing five runs in the final 1.1 innings.

The Bison will head to the Golden Eagle Classic hosted by Southern Mississippi next, beginning an 11-day swing in Mississippi and Louisiana. The Bison open up with Maryland Eastern Shore and Southern Mississippi on March 7.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
