Senate Bill 2225, which is expected to pass, would establish a $20 million fund to assist communities in financing residential projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The program would cover one-third of infrastructure costs through state grants, with the local government and developers each contributing another third. The JSDC\u2019s proposed loan would serve as the city&#8217;s matching contribution, ensuring Jamestown is positioned to take advantage of these funds. The loan forgiveness would be contingent on the funds being used for housing development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The JSDC would reallocate $500,000 from a previously unused housing program to support this initiative. With the upcoming construction season in mind, we aim to move quickly to secure funding and facilitate new residential lot development.
