Thanks to the generosity of local donors, we successfully exceeded our $60,000 fundraising goal, ensuring vital services remain available for those in need.

In addition to the Red Kettle effort, the community stepped up once again through the Giving Hearts campaign, contributing an additional $12,000 in critical donations. These generous gifts directly impact individuals and families facing hardship, because they provide essential services such as food, shelter, rent and utility assistance, and emergency aid.

“We know the Jamestown community to be compassionate and generous, and the outpouring of support from our community has been truly inspiring,” said Jerry Bergquist, chair of the Salvation Army Jamestown advisory board. “Every donation—big or small—has made a difference in the lives of people who turn to us for help. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed, whether by dropping a few dollars into a red kettle, making an online donation, or volunteering their time.”

While this achievement deserves sincere appreciation, the need for assistance continues throughout the year. Many individuals and families still rely on The Salvation Army for support, especially during these challenging economic times. The rising cost of food, housing, and utilities mean that more people are facing financial hardship and need help making ends meet.

“The Salvation Army remains committed to serving the most vulnerable in our community, but we can’t do it alone,” Bergquist said. “We encourage those who can to consider making a contribution to support our ongoing efforts.” He added that every dollar donated locally stays local, helping Stutsman County neighbors in need.

To donate and help make a difference, checks can be sent to The Salvation Army, 320 First Ave. N., Jamestown, ND 58401, or online at SalvationArmyNorth.org.

Jamestown – The Jamestown Salvation Army extends its heartfelt gratitude to the residents in and around Stutsman County for their unwavering support during the 2024 Christmas Red Kettle campaign.
