Jamestown<\/strong> \u2013 The Jamestown Salvation Army is pleased to announce they are the beneficiary of a transformative and unique gift\u2014a bequest of 236 acres of farmland from a generous donor whose family has chosen to remain anonymous. This substantial gift, appraised at $900,000, will establish an endowment to provide sustained annual funding to the Jamestown Salvation Army service center for many decades to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to leaving a legacy benefitting the community, the gift arrives at an important time for the Jamestown service center as it works toward assisting a greater number of people in need in the Stutsman County area. The center\u2019s primary focus is to provide relief to those facing food insecurity, rental assistance to avoid eviction, utility help to avert disconnection, Christmas gifts for children in need, and providing emergency hotel stays to those experiencing homelessness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The farmland bequest will create a dependable source of funding that ensures the Jamestown service center can continue to offer its services and grow in its capacity to serve the community. With this endowment in place, the Jamestown Salvation Army can focus on delivering food, financial aid, and social services to vulnerable individuals and families across the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
