Community Days activities along with the Bridge City Cruisers\u2019 \u201cRally in the Valley\u201d car show was held over the weekend.\u00a0 Following a cool beginning Saturday, it remained dry with clouds giving way to comfortable temperatures and sunshine mid-afternoon. Thank you to the Valley City Area Chamber of Commerce, Bridge City Cruisers and all who contributed to a grand event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The parade was a dandy with many people braving the cooler temperatures to watch the parade and see the kids racing for candy.\u00a0 Thank you to all who sponsored parade units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There were about 184 cars, tractors, motorcycles, etc. on display in the Saturday show.\u00a0 Likely one or more of them would have been pleasing for everyone.\u00a0 A special event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Year\u2019s Junior Duck Stamp Art Exhibit is on display now until July 2nd at our Barnes County Museum.\u00a0 Take this opportunity to view the young people\u2019s great artistic talents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The golfing season is underway and I hope you all can play as well and as often as you want.\u00a0 For golf to be fun for all, please respect \u201cGolf Etiquette\u201d.\u00a0 Golf etiquette includes, but is not restricted to, picking up tees on the tee box, fixing ball marks so you\u2019d be comfortable putting over them, replacing divots, obeying roped off areas for carts and being respectful of all other golfers.\u00a0 For more information, enter a search for \u201cGolf Etiquette\u201d.\u00a0 Enjoy \u201cThe Grand Old Game\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last week I mentioned that stopping at STOP signs is for your safety.\u00a0 In addition, the fine is about $80.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Arbor Day Foundation encourages us all to plant, nurture and celebrate trees in communities and forests everywhere.\u00a0 To be successful, we must plant the kinds of trees that have a chance to survive in our area.\u00a0 In City Hall we have a list of trees conducive to good growing in our zone and soil types.\u00a0 Be informed, your \u201cfavorite tree\u201d may not be best for your place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
