Jamestown (JRMC) – On Saturday, June 7, R.M. Stoudt hosted the 18th annual Running of the Pink 5K and 10K walk\/run. This year\u2019s event welcomed a record number of 736 registrants \u2014 both in-person and virtual \u2014 and raised more than $56,000 to support breast cancer detection and women\u2019s health services in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re incredibly thankful for the community\u2019s support of Running of the Pink 18,\u201d said Jamie Walton, Running of the Pink Director and BDC representative coordinator at R.M. Stoudt. \u201cThe event continues to grow each year, and planning is already underway to ensure Running of the Pink 19 even more successful.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Proceeds from the event benefit Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) and Central Valley Health District through local initiatives like No Excuses and Women\u2019s Way, which help remove barriers to preventative screenings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stoudt and our generous community,\u201d said Tonya Perkins, JRMC Foundation director. \u201cWith a record number of participants this year, the energy was inspiring. No Excuses, offered through JRMC, helps cover costs related to screenings such as mammograms and Pap tests, regardless of a woman\u2019s insurance status or income level. Women\u2019s Way, coordinated locally by Central Valley Health District, offers income-based access to breast and cervical cancer screenings. Both programs aim to detect cancer earlier and improve long-term health outcomes. By providing financial access to screenings, Running of the Pink not only champions local and accessible care but also opens vital conversations around women\u2019s health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event also spotlights the comprehensive OB-GYN care available at JRMC, including services provided by Dr. Emily Stromquist, Dr. McAdoo and nurse practitioner Makenzie Breitbach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since its inception, Running of the Pink has raised more than $400,000 for local women\u2019s health programs. R.M. Stoudt and the event\u2019s dedicated sponsors, donors, and volunteers continue to champion access to care that saves lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
