Valley City – The Sheyenne Valley Memory Caf\u00e9 will host its next gathering on Thursday, September 25, 2025, featuring a special presentation on Preparing for Emergencies with Nicole Klefstad Johnson of ND Aging Services and Beth Olson of the Alzheimer\u2019s Association of Minnesota and North Dakota.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Emergency situations\u2014such as extreme weather or evacuations\u2014can be especially challenging for individuals with Alzheimer\u2019s or other forms of dementia. Caregivers need a clear plan and the right supplies to keep their loved ones safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The presenters will share practical tips for creating emergency kits, preparing for heat or cold, and planning ahead for situations that may arise suddenly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhen a crisis hits, preparation makes all the difference,\u201d said Beth Olson. \u201cOur goal is to help caregivers feel more confident and ready to respond.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
