Jamestown (JRMC) – Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC), a regional leader of innovation and technology, is partnering with Avel eCare to bring virtual Critical Care on Demand services to its patients. This initiative enhances JRMC\u2019s already-strong care team through the addition of round-the-clock access to experienced intensive care unit (ICU) specialists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur nurses can initiate a call at any time to consult directly with another nurse or physician,\u201d said Lisa Schrenk, JRMC Patient Care Unit manager. \u201cThis expansion to the care team is beneficial for everyone \u2014 nurses, hospitalists, patients and the families who trust us with their care.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n

On average, JRMC cares for 100 to 150 admitted patients each month, with about three to four requiring ICU-level care. While these cases are relatively uncommon, access to Avel\u2019s experienced professionals gives opportunities for earlier interventions and reduces the risk of complications for all patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHaving an extra set of eyes and ears \u2014 especially from professionals with extensive ICU experience \u2014 gives our nurses greater confidence and opportunities to grow in their own careers,\u201d Schrenk said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
