Each month on the second Saturday, classes will be offered around a yearly theme, giving young artists the chance to learn, explore, and create.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first session will take place on Saturday, October 11, with the theme <em>Sculpt like Michelangelo.<\/em> Students will explore the art of carving inspired by Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni. Using reductive sculptural techniques, participants will create their own \u201cmarble\u201d sculptures out of foam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two class times are available:<br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hisawyer.com\/jamestown-fine-art\/schedules\/activity-set\/1582707?source=camps\">\u2022 10:30 a.m. \u2013 12:00 p.m.<\/a><br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hisawyer.com\/jamestown-fine-art\/schedules\/activity-set\/1582709?source=camps\">\u2022 1:00 \u2013 2:30 p.m.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cost is $15 per child, or $12 for Arts Center members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seats are limited, so advance registration is required at least 24 hours before class.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown (The Arts Center) &#8211; The Arts Center is excited to announce the return of \u201cSecond Saturdays,\u201d a program designed for students in grades 1 through 5.
