The DAISY Award is an internationally recognized program that honors the compassionate care and clinical skills of nurses \u2014 values that align with JRMC\u2019s commitment to excellence in patient care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a registered nurse in the JRMC&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/jrmcnd.com\/specialties\/cancer-center\/\">Cancer Center<\/a>, Striefel was selected for her intentional approach to care that addresses both the clinical and emotional needs of those undergoing cancer treatment. She was chosen from a record-breaking 32 DAISY Award nominations, highlighting the quality of nursing care across the organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In her nomination, patient Lindsey Quichocho described Striefel\u2019s care as a steady source of reassurance throughout her treatment. She shared that Striefel takes time to explain each aspect of her care, ensuring she understands her treatment plan and feels supported during every visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cCaitlin never rushes me,\u201d Quichocho wrote. \u201cShe listens, answers every question thoroughly and always makes me feel like I am her priority.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Quichocho also noted Striefel\u2019s role as an advocate, emphasizing the importance of having a nurse who actively communicates and follows through on patient concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cIn the medical world, I often feel like I need to fight to make my voice heard,\u201d Quichocho said. \u201cWith Caitlin, I never have to carry that burden alone.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Striefel\u2019s recognition reflects the impact nurses have not only through clinical expertise, but through consistent presence, clear communication and compassionate support during some of the most challenging moments in patients\u2019 lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cCaitlin exemplifies what it means to be an extraordinary nurse,\u201d said Trisha Jungels, JRMC vice president and chief nursing officer. \u201cShe doesn\u2019t just provide excellent oncology care; she walks alongside her patients and their families during some of life\u2019s most difficult moments.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown ND (JRMC) &#8211; Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) presented Caitlin Striefel with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses.
