Souix Falls SD – The University of Jamestown women’s golf team faced a challenging field at the Augustana Spring Invitational, held April 6th\u00a0at Elmwood Golf Course. The Jimmies finished 9th overall in the team race, posting a total score of +120.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jamestown opened the event with a team score of 345 and carded a 355 in the final round. Concordia-St. Paul took home the team title with a tournament total of +44.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nelson and Rexin Lead Scoring<\/strong>
Celi Nelson<\/a><\/dfn><\/strong> was the top finisher for the Jimmies, earning a tie for 30th place. Nelson remained steady throughout the tournament, recording back-to-back rounds of 83 to finish at +22.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kacie Rexin<\/a><\/dfn> <\/strong>also turned in a strong performance, finishing in a tie for 37th place. Rexin opened the tournament with an 82 before carding an 86 in the second round to finish at +24.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jimmie Scoring Breakdown<\/strong>
The remainder of the Jimmie lineup battled through the two-day event:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ellie Garavaglia<\/a><\/dfn>: <\/strong>Finished in a tie for 47th at +30, shooting consecutive rounds of 87.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lyla McCasson<\/a><\/dfn>: <\/strong>Placed in a tie for 62nd at +44, highlighted by an 89 in the final round to shave ten strokes off her opening score.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mya Wimer<\/a><\/dfn>:<\/strong> Finished 70th overall with a total of +64 (108-100).
