News Aug 30, 2012) &#8212; The Jamestown Police Department is warning Jamestown Residents regarding a convicted sex offender who has move to Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>The report says, Nicholas Allen Harding, now resides at 610 14 Street Northeast, apartment #4.<\/p>\n<p>He drives a silver 2008 Chevrolet Uplander, with ND license plate JHE 037.<\/p>\n<p>Harding is a 24 year old white male, 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 215 pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hair.<\/p>\n<p>Harding has been assigned a high risk assessment by the North Dakota Risk Level Committee of the North Dakota Attorney General\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>Harding was convicted of corruption of a minor, sending a sexually explicit message to a 16 year old female.<\/p>\n<p>The conviction date is April 15, 2010 in Stutsman County District Court.<\/p>\n<p>North Dakota disposition: 30 days with credit for 10 days served, 1 year supervised probation.<\/p>\n<p>Offense: Harding was convicted of permitting an obscene performance by a minor.<\/p>\n<p>Conviction date: August 1, 2007, in Barnes County District Court.<\/p>\n<p>North Dakota disposition: 1 year, 1 day, 284 days suspended, 2 years supervised probation.<\/p>\n<p>Offense: Harding was convicted of possession of material.<\/p>\n<p>Conviction date: August 1, 2007 in Barnes County District Court.<\/p>\n<p>North Dakota disposition: 82 days, credit for 82 days served.<\/p>\n<p>Harding is currently on probation with North Dakota Parole and Probation.<\/p>\n<p>Harding is not wanted by police at this time, and has served the sentence imposed by the court.<\/p>\n<p>This notification is meant for public safety and not to increase fear in the community, nor, should this information be used to threaten, assault or intimidate the offender.<\/p>\n<p>Attempts to harass, intimidate, or threaten these offenders, their families, landlords, or employers, will be turned over for prosecution.<\/p>\n<p>Printed handouts of Harding\u2019s photo and demographics are available at the Jamestown Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>More information on registered offenders is available on the Attorney General\u2019s web site:<strong> <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sexoffender.nd.gov\/\"><strong>http:\/\/www.sexoffender.nd.gov\/<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (Aug 30, 2012) &#8212; The College Community Connection Block Party, Thursday evening, featured 95 booths, with an estimated 3,000 people visiting booths and getting aquatinted with Jamestown College freshman, and upper class students.<\/p>\n<p>The annual event gives the community the opportunity to mingle, and businesses, churches, and organizations to make hires, and find more volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>Organizer, Lisa Hicks says if the the event continues to grow, a fourth block of downtown Jamestown may be needed, as some requesting booths this year had to be turned away, due to lack of space.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) &#8212; The Jamestown Choralaires, is planning a new &#8220;season&#8221; of sings in the area.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday\u2019s (Aug 30, 2012 ) Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Roger Caine said<\/p>\n<p>The Choralaires are also looking for new members to join.<\/p>\n<p>They meet each Wednesday at the Jamestown Middle School band room from 8:45 p.m., to 10:15-p.m. (next Wed. starting at 8:30 p.m.), and potential new members are welcome to sit in and find out more about joining the Choralaires.<\/p>\n<p>He added the church sing is scheduled for November 14, 2012, as the singers perform at area churches.<\/p>\n<p>The dinner concert is set for December 7, 8, 2012 at St. John\u2019s Academy, Zebedee Center.<\/p>\n<p>The Spring Concert is planned for April 4, 5, 2013 at Jamestown High School.<\/p>\n<p>The next Big Sing is set in 2013 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.<\/p>\n<p>Caine thanks the community for its financial and other support for this year\u2019s Big Sing held in Jamestown, with about 1,000 people in attendance.<\/p>\n<p>The Choralaires are directed by Pam Burkhardt, with accompaniment by Carrie Kraft.<\/p>\n<p>The group is also joined at selected concerts by The Jamestown Boys Choir.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Governor Jack Dalrymple has ordered all<br \/>\nflags in North Dakota be flown at half-staff today in honor of<br \/>\nformer astronaut Neil Armstrong.<\/p>\n<p>Dalrymple says he&#8217;s asking all flags be lowered from sunrise to sunset at the request of President Barack Obama.<\/p>\n<p>Armstrong, who was the first man to walk on the moon, died last Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Four men arrested during a drug bust in Williston also are accused of kidnapping another man.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 10 people living mostly in campers were arrested during the August 23rd bust.<\/p>\n<p>Four of them now are charged with kidnapping Robert Osterhour and driving him in a trunk to northeastern Montana on August 13th.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A man accused of trying to extort $50 million<br \/>\nfrom various agencies and threatening to hold tribunals for<br \/>\npoliticians told U.S. District Judge Ralph Erickson that Erickson<br \/>\nshould be arrested for ruining his life.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Brian Jacobson, of Battle Lake, Minn., unleashed the tirade on<br \/>\nErickson Thursday in a brief hearing to update the case.<\/p>\n<p>Jacobson first complained that he wasn&#8217;t receiving proper liquids in jail<br \/>\nand then blamed Erickson for his plight.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Said Jacobson, &#8220;I want to see you in cuffs today.&#8221;<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The judge responded that it wasn&#8217;t likely to happen.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Jacobson is charged with two counts of transmitting threatening<br \/>\ncommunications.<\/p>\n<p>He allegedly demanded to be paid $50 million for an<br \/>\nalleged contract with the city of Fargo and told three North Dakota<br \/>\npoliticians he could put them on trial.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A charitable program that distributes<br \/>\ndonated deer meat to food pantries across North Dakota also is<br \/>\naccepting goose meat this fall.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Hunters can donate meat from birds killed during the early<br \/>\nCanada goose season to processors that take part in the Sportsmen<br \/>\nAgainst Hunger program.<\/p>\n<p>There are 11 sites across the state handling the goose donations.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ann Pollert is executive director of North Dakota&#8217;s Community<br \/>\nAction Partnership, which sponsors the charitable program as part<br \/>\nof efforts to help low-income families.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0She says the group is &#8220;testing the waters&#8221; to see if goose donations will work as well as deer donations have in the past.<\/p>\n<p>In the region, Reister Meats in Streeter is participating.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 North Dakota&#8217;s early Canada goose season opened Aug. 15 and<br \/>\ncloses Sept. 7 in the Missouri River zone and Sept. 15 elsewhere in<br \/>\nthe state.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The U.S. Forest Service is implementing fire restrictions on some national grasslands in the Dakotas because of dry conditions that have elevated the danger of wildfires.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fires and campfires are being restricted to developed recreation sites equipped with metal fire rings or elevated charcoal grills.<\/p>\n<p>Smoking is being prohibited except within enclosed vehicles or buildings, developed recreation sites and barren areas at least three feet in diameter.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The restrictions go into effect Friday on the Little Missouri, Grand River and Cedar River national grasslands.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Forest Service spokeswoman Babete Anderson says the 5-square-mile Deep Creek 2 fire on the Little Missouri grasslands in western North Dakota is now fully contained.<\/p>\n<p>The fire was sparked by lightning late last week. No structures burned and no people were hurt.<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0MANDAN, N.D. (AP) &#8211; St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck is planning an $8 million clinic in Mandan to replace its existing facility in the neighboring city.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The 22,000-square-foot, 306-bed clinic is expected to open in early 2014, employing an additional 20 employees, including four new doctors.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 St. Alexius CEO Gary Miller says the hospital bought the land five years ago with the expectation that Mandan would grow.<\/p>\n<p>The city recently built a new middle school in the area and is considering a new elementary school.
