(AP) \u2013 The North Dakota Insurance Department says it needs more time to study a change to the federal health law and how it will affect the state.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 President Barack Obama announced Thursday that health insurance companies can continue to sell policies canceled under the Affordable Care Act for at least one more year to existing customers. The president\u2019s revision is in response to criticism from people who had cancellations or big changes to their insurance policies based on the new law.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 State Insurance Commissioner Adam Hamm announced last week that nearly 36,000 North Dakotans would have their insurance policies canceled under the new health care law.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 State Insurance Department spokeswoman Andrea Fonkert says the agency is studying the revision \u201cand its potential impact on policy holders and the health insurance market.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BISMARCK, N.D.
