{"id":32437,"date":"2013-11-17T18:27:09","date_gmt":"2013-11-18T00:27:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=32437"},"modified":"2013-11-18T10:33:09","modified_gmt":"2013-11-18T16:33:09","slug":"multiple-injuries-crash-richland-county","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=32437","title":{"rendered":"Multiple Injuries, Crash, Richland County"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/NDHP-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-9887\" alt=\"NDHP-1\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/NDHP-1-300x202.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"202\" \/><\/a>Fargo (CSi)\u00a0\u2013 On November 16th, 2013, the NDHP investigated a two vehicle multi injury crash on Richland County Road 81 at the junction with Richland County Road 8.<\/p>\n<p>The crash occurred at approximately 11:59 pm.\u00a0 A southbound, 2002 Subaru Forrester was making a left turn from Co. Rd. 81 to Co. Rd. 8, when it turned in front of a northbound, 2002 Chevrolet Express 15 passenger van.\u00a0 The center front of the van struck the right front of the Subaru.\u00a0 After the collision, the Subaru came to rest on the east shoulder of Co. Rd. 81 approximately 100 feet north of the intersection facing west on its wheels.\u00a0 The Chevrolet van came to rest in the east ditch of Co. Rd. 81 on its wheels facing east approximately 100 feet north of the intersection.<\/p>\n<p>The Subaru was driven by Zachary Erbes, 18 YOA, Walcott, ND.\u00a0 Mr. Erbes suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to Essentia Hospital in Fargo.\u00a0 Mr. Erbes was wearing his seat belt.\u00a0 The Subaru was a total loss.<\/p>\n<p>The Chevrolet van was driven by Joseph Smith, 16 YOA, Colfax, ND.\u00a0 He was seat belted and uninjured.\u00a0 The Chevrolet van was a total loss.\u00a0 In addition to Mr. Smith, the following 12 individuals were passengers in the Chevrolet van in various locations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>-Elijah Hansen, 15, Abercrombie, ND \u2013 between front driver and passenger seat, not belted<\/li>\n<li>-John Thompson, 16, Walcott, ND \u2013 front passenger seat, belted<\/li>\n<li>-Jacob Todd, 16, Walcott, ND \u2013 1<sup>st<\/sup> row rear seats, belted<\/li>\n<li>-David Todd, 20, Walcott, ND \u2013 1<sup>st<\/sup> row rear seats, belted<\/li>\n<li>-Brady Heyen, 16, Abercrombie \u2013 ND \u2013 1<sup>st<\/sup> row rear seats, not belted<\/li>\n<li>-Carley Knudson, 16, Christine, ND \u2013 2<sup>nd<\/sup> row rear seats, belted<\/li>\n<li>-Madeleine Belling, 17, Walcott, ND \u2013 2<sup>nd<\/sup> row rear seats, belted<\/li>\n<li>-Damon Hage, 19 YOA, Colfax, ND \u2013 2<sup>nd<\/sup> row rear seats, belted<\/li>\n<li>-Nathan Meyers, 15 YOA, Colfax, ND \u2013 3<sup>rd<\/sup> row rear seats, belted<\/li>\n<li>-Travis Meyers, 18 YOA \u2013 3<sup>rd<\/sup> row rear seats, not belted<\/li>\n<li>-Connor Knudsen, 16 YOA, Christine, ND \u2013 3<sup>rd<\/sup> row rear seats, belted<\/li>\n<li>-Abby Zenker, 17 YOA, Wahpeton, ND \u2013 behind 3<sup>rd<\/sup> row of seats, not belted<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All twelve passengers in the Chevrolet van were treated either at the scene for minor injuries or at Essentia Hospital, Sanford Hospital or St. Francis Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Highway Patrol Capt. Bryan Niewind (NEE&#8217;-wihnd) says the teens in the van were not part of any organized group. He says they were just friends out having some innocent fun.<\/p>\n<p>Dwight, Abercrombie and Colfax Fire Departments responded to the scene.\u00a0 Kindred, Colfax, Dwight, Abercrombie, Wahpeton and FM Ambulance services were also on scene.<\/p>\n<p>The NDHP was assisted by the Richland County Sheriff\u2019s Office at the crash scene.\u00a0 The crash remains under investigation.\u00a0 No charges have been filed at this time.\u00a0 Once the crash investigation is complete, possible charges may be filed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The roadway was wet and a light mist\/drizzle was falling at the time of the crash.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fargo (CSi)\u00a0\u2013 On November 16th, 2013, the NDHP investigated a two vehicle multi injury crash on Richland County Road 81 at the junction with Richland County Road 8.
