\u00a0OAKES, N.D. (AP) \u2014 The longtime high school principal and activities director in Oakes has resigned nearly a week after an internal investigation began.<\/p>\n

KDDR-AM reports Don Warren submitted his resignation Wednesday during a special school board meeting that lasted less than two minutes.<\/p>\n
The board voted unanimously to accept the resignation, which was effective immediately, and thanked him for his service to the district.<\/p>\n
Warren didn\u2019t attend the meeting but told The Associated Press he had no comment.<\/p>\n
Oakes superintendent Josh Johnson also declined to comment on the investigation. He says the inquiry started last week and should be concluded by the end of next week.<\/p>\n
Warren had been high school principal at Oakes since 1990 and the school\u2019s activities director since 2001.<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi) — Two men were arrested in connection with an incident that occurred early Saturday (Nov 23, 2013) morning, where a homeowner reported blood on the window of a garage door, which was opened.<\/p>\n
Valley City Police Chief Fred Thompson says officers were dispatched by Barnes County Dispatch at 3:43 a.m. to 530 6th Ave. Northwest.<\/p>\n
Subsequent to the investigation it was determined that an individual entered the garage and entered a vehicle inside.<\/p>\n
The officers were able to track the unknown individual to a house at 546 6th Street Northwest, by following footprints in the snow.<\/p>\n
The investigation included physical evidence at the scene, and talking with four Valley City men at the house, which led police to believe that an altercation had occurred between the men.<\/p>\n
Further investigations at the house led to two arrests.<\/p>\n
20 year old Ring Akol, was arrested for minor in possession, consumption of alcohol.<\/p>\n
22 year old Shol Gout, was arrested for disorderly conduct.<\/p>\n
Chief Thompson says as the investigation continues, anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Valley City Police at 701-845-3110.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday\u2019s (Nov 27, 2013) Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, the “Y\u2019s” Excutive Director, Frank Conlin said, teams in the tournament were from the Dakotas, Canada, and a team from Minnesota.<\/p>\n
Conlin said with early Jamestown Public Schools dismissal on Wednesday December 4, 2013, the Y will host a “Float & Flick” at the Y\u2019s pool, for Middle School students, with swimming and a movie. That evening the “Float & Flick.” will be for K-3 & 4 graders.<\/p>\n
He pointed out the new “Battle Ropes,” program at the Y is successful with more ropes having been added, held Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6:30-p.m., to 7:15-p.m.<\/p>\n

He was arrested in March 2013 for possession of three handguns and 94 rounds of ammunition. Two of the handguns were concealed on his body and one was located inside his vehicle.
