{"id":37737,"date":"2014-02-11T10:15:35","date_gmt":"2014-02-11T16:15:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=37737"},"modified":"2014-02-11T10:19:12","modified_gmt":"2014-02-11T16:19:12","slug":"purse-exchange-donations-for-wounded-warriors-proj","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=37737","title":{"rendered":"Nearly $17 K Raised, Purse Exchange, For Wounded Warriors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Updates&#8230;Shelley Nanenga\u00a0from \u00a0Service Dogs for America reports that almost $17,000 was raised during the event.\u00a0 Over 200 women, and a few men attended.<\/p>\n<p>She also notes that Service Dogs for America will be a recipient of dollars raised during &#8220;Giving Hearts Day,&#8221; on Thursday February 13, 2014.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.impactgiveback.org\/\">www.impactgiveback.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Reported previously..<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) Paws4WARD, The Anne Carlsen Center, and\u00a0Service Dogs in Jud are raising funds to provide service dogs to four veterans in the Wounded Warriors project.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Shelley Nanenga &#8211; Service Dogs for America, and Karmel Wanzek &#8211;\u00a0Paws4WARD, talked about a fundraising event set for <strong>Sunday February 9<\/strong>, 2014, from 2-6-p.m., at Quality Inn &amp; Suites in Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>Shelley said a bill passed in the 2013 North Dakota legislative session set aside dollars to help sponsor four service dogs for vets with PTSD.<\/p>\n<p>The amount does not cover the total cost of each dog, which can be as high as $20,000.<\/p>\n<p>Karmel said, a creation of the Dale Carnegie program, Paws4WARD has developed the Purses for a Purpose, a purse exchange where new and gently used designer purses are exchanged, with general admission at $20, and the VIP admission of $25, which allows early entrance to the purse exchange. No reservations will be taken, and only 200 tickets will be sold. 100% of funds raised goes to veterans, in need of service dogs.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets can be ordered by calling Crystal Nehlich at 701-845-2712, or Shelley Nanenga at 701-658-0330, Quality Inn &amp; Suites, First Community Credit Union in Jamestown, Unison Bank in Jamestown, and Dacotah Bank in Valley City.
