{"id":38146,"date":"2014-01-29T11:22:59","date_gmt":"2014-01-29T17:22:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=38146"},"modified":"2014-01-31T08:00:12","modified_gmt":"2014-01-31T14:00:12","slug":"arrest-made-after-attempted-holdup-convenience-store","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=38146","title":{"rendered":"Update Charges Filed, Convenience Store Holdups"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown (CSi) Jamestown Police has made an arrest in connection with three holdups or attempted holdup of Jamestown convenience stores.<\/p>\n<p>Police Chief Scott Edinger says, an attempted holdup of Dan\u2019s Sooper Stop, at 811 13<sup>th<\/sup> Street Northeast, occurred Tuesday evening (Jan 28, 2014) at about 8:30-p.m.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/hemphill.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-38217\" alt=\"hemphill\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/hemphill-150x150.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>The man police identified as 55 \u00a0year old Gary Lynn Hemphill of Jamestown, entered the store and said he had a weapon, demanding cash.<\/p>\n<p>The clerk on duty challenged him about actually having a weapon, which he said he did not have, and fled in a vehicle, which the clerk gave a description of, and police located it, leading to the arrest of Hemphill.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/JetstreamJan8eastend.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-36527\" alt=\"JetstreamJan8eastend\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/JetstreamJan8eastend-150x150.png\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>He was wearing similar clothing the male suspect was wearing in the robberies of the Cenex Convenience store, on December 15, 2013 and Jetstream Car Wash, on January 9, 2014, located within a block of each other on 10<sup>th<\/sup> Street Southeast in Jamestown.\u00a0Police \u00a0believed the three incidents are connected<\/p>\n<p>The clerk at Dan\u2019s Sooper Stop said the suspect was wearing a Carhart jacket with a hoody with a raincoat over it, and was wearing a mask, with a plastic bag over his head.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-34572\" alt=\"cenex robbery1\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/cenex-robbery1-150x150.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Hemphill, was charged Thursday afternoon in Southeast District Court with robbery and criminal intent.<\/p>\n<p>He is in custody at the Stutsman County Correctional Center on a $50,000 cash bond.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown (CSi) Jamestown Police has made an arrest in connection with three holdups or attempted holdup of Jamestown convenience stores.
