{"id":38183,"date":"2014-01-30T07:45:06","date_gmt":"2014-01-30T13:45:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=38183"},"modified":"2014-02-03T07:25:01","modified_gmt":"2014-02-03T13:25:01","slug":"jps-board-addressing-deficit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=38183","title":{"rendered":"JPS Board Addressing Deficit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown Public Schools is looking at options to reduce the 2014-15 budget deficit.<\/p>\n<p>The school district anticipates a $800,000 budget deficit at the end of the fiscal year this summer and the $1.8 million shortfall following the 2014-15 school year.<\/p>\n<p>The School Board\u2019s Financial Task Force met with other members of the School Board Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n<p>The task force is asking Superintendent Rob Lech to prepare three optional plans, which Lech calls, &#8220;worse, worse and worst.\u00a0 &#8220;The entire list of options for revenue enhancements and reductions would offset the deficit by approximately $1.87 million by the end of the 2014-15 school year, and, some of those moves would require drastic restructuring of the current JPS system as well as major staff, program and other cuts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown Public Schools is looking at options to reduce the 2014-15 budget deficit.
