{"id":3879,"date":"2012-09-14T07:00:40","date_gmt":"2012-09-14T12:00:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=3879"},"modified":"2012-09-14T07:00:40","modified_gmt":"2012-09-14T12:00:40","slug":"russell-jim-schmoker-sept-13-2012","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=3879","title":{"rendered":"Russell \u201cJim\u201d Schmoker &#8211; Sept 13, 2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">Russell \u201cJim\u201d Schmoker, 92, of Jamestown, ND, died Thursday, September 13, 2012 at his home.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">Russell J. Schmoker was born August 25, 1920, in Dickey, ND, the son of Fred and Ellen (Foran) Schmoker.\u00a0 He graduated from Dickey High School in 1938 and attended Mayville State for two years.\u00a0 Jim joined the National Guard in February 1941 and served with the 164<sup>th<\/sup> Infantry during WWII in Guadalcanal and the Solomon Islands.\u00a0 He was discharged in September 1945 and returned to Dickey and worked for Northern Pacific, later Burlington Northern Railroad.\u00a0 Jim married Aurelia \u201cPeggy\u201d Arthur on June 10, 1947 in Dickey.\u00a0 They made their home in Dickey until 1956, when they moved to a farm south of Dickey.\u00a0 Hee enjoyed raising pheasants, peacocks, and other exotic birds. \u00a0Jim retired from the railroad after 30 years and they moved to Jamestown in the last few years.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">He was an avid sportsman, a member of Grand Rapids Country Club, Dickey Assumption Church, and later St. James Basilica.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">Jim is survived by his wife, Aurelia \u201cPeggy\u201d Schmoker, Jamestown; two sons, Craig Schmoker, Jamestown and Douglas Schmoker, Littleton, CO; three daughters, Candace (Harlan) Fuglesten, Fargo, Cathy (Eugene) Breker, Fargo, and Lisa (Kevin) Axtman, Bismarck, ND; nine grandchildren, Shelby Breker, Dane Breker, Michael Breker, Ashley Breker, Kyle Fuglesten, Kari Fuglesten, Jayme Fuglesten, Ben Axtman and Sami Axtman; and four great grandchildren, Cole Fuglesten, Eben Breker, Bode Breker, and Logan Breker; and many nieces and nephews.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;\">He was preceded in death by his parents and eleven brothers and sisters.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><em><strong><br \/>\nEucharist of Christian Burial:<\/strong><\/em><em> 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 17, 2012 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><em><strong>Visitation:<\/strong><\/em><em> 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><em><strong>Prayer Service:<\/strong><\/em><em> 7;00 p.m., Sun day, September 16, 2012 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><em><strong>Interment:<\/strong><\/em><em> Dickey Cemetery, Dickey, ND.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Russell \u201cJim\u201d Schmoker, 92, of Jamestown, ND, died Thursday, September 13, 2012 at his home.
