Noel Coward\u2019s Relative Values is a satire of snobbery in all its guises, it deals with the clash of cultures between Hollywood stars and the English aristocracy.<\/p>\n

The Brittish humor is laced with sarcasm, and double entendre, with innuendo, in the character-driven comedy.<\/p>\n

The play, set in 1952 England is in three acts, and centers around an upper-class Englishman who brings an American actress home as his fianc\u00e9e, much to the dismay of nearly everyone in the house, family and servants alike.<\/p>\n

The story is set in 1952 England, where Nigel, the Earl of Marshwood, woos Hollywood star Miranda Frayle, upsetting both his mother, Countess Felicity of Marshwood, and her former love, fellow Hollywood star Don Lucas.<\/p>\n

Right before the engagement party, Moxie, the Countess\u2019s personal maid and best friend reveals that Miranda is her estranged sister. Crestwell, the Countess\u2019s butler, quickly devises a plan-but an inebriated Lucas\u2019s arrival at Marshwood to try to talk to Miranda causing all chaos to break loose.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show, on CSi Cable 2, Reggie vanBeekom, who plays the family butler, Crestwell, says he based the character on a Brittish explorer, an earlier character he’d developed.<\/p>\n

Also on our show, Chris Sheppard, who plays Felicity, the Countess of Marchwood.<\/p>\n

She portrays the character with an upper-crust British accent.<\/p>\n

She said it helped that the play mostly concerns family and people who know each other well – and many of the actors in the show have worked together in the past.<\/p>\n

The cast includes Krissy Nybo as Alice, Sarah Cole as Mrs. Moxton, Lori Richardson as Lady Hayling, Bill Nybo as Admiral Sir John Hayling, Jack Waters as the Hon. Peter Ingleton, Joel Blaha as Nigel, Earl of Marshwood, Amanda Roecker as Miranda Frayule and Jeff Pratt as Don Lucas.<\/p>\n

The large crew includes assistant directors Melissa Goodrich and Shelly Anderson, with costume design by Carrie Roemmich and Samantha Carlson, set construction by Ken Gilbertson and set design and props by Bonnie Rogers.<\/p>\n

Noel Coward, was an English playwright, composer, director, actor and singer, known for his wit, flamboyance, and what Time magazine called “a sense of personal style, a combination of cheek and chic, pose and poise.” He virtually invented the concept of “Englishness” for the 20th century.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
