Jangula was never<br \/>\npresented his medals, and his family contacted Senator Hoeven&#8217;s office to request<br \/>\nhelp recovering the medals.<a href=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Jangula2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-41678\" alt=\"Jangula2\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Jangula2-300x202.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"202\" srcset=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Jangula2-300x202.jpg 300w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Jangula2-259x175.jpg 259w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Jangula2.jpg 445w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>John was born in Zeeland, North Dakota to Jacob and Eva Jangula. He grew up in<br \/>\nEdgeley with six brothers and six sisters. John joined the National Guard at age 17<br \/>\nand went to Camp Rucker, Alabama in 1951. In March 1952, Sergeant Jangula was<br \/>\ndeployed to Korea, where he served as a mortar transportation foreman. He was<br \/>\ndischarged December 4, 1952 at Fort Lewis, Washington.<\/p>\n<p>Upon returning to North Dakota, John farmed and then worked as the maintenance man<br \/>\nat the school in Edgeley until his retirement in 1981. He is the father of eight<br \/>\nchildren.
