Jack Dalrymple has proclaimed April as Safe Digging Month in North Dakota.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In recognition, the North Dakota Public Service Commission is reminding everyone of the potential dangers and consequences of digging without first calling 811, North Dakota&#8217;s Call-Before-You-Dig number.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Since 2009, the PSC says it has taken enforcement action in more than 20 cases related to violations of the Call-Before-You-Dig law.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Regulators say the consequences of striking an underground utility can result in injury or death, service interruptions or damage to the environment.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Officials say there were more than 1.1 million requests in North Dakota last year requesting locations of utilities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D.
