News Jul 14, 2012) &#8212; The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports a one vehicle rollover Saturday evening, injured two people.<br \/>\nThe accident happened about 10:05 p.m., three miles east of Jamestown, on Stutsman County Road 40.<\/p>\n<p>A car operated by 30 year old Micheal Ambers of Buchanan was westbound. Ambers&#8217; vehicle ran off the roadway into the north ditch. The vehicle continued to travel westbound in the north ditch. The vehicle struck and approach and vaulted, rolled in the north ditch and came to rest on the passenger side in the north ditch.<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown Crash Rescue came to the scene and extricated the occupants.<br \/>\nA passenger, 26 year old Nonnie Jasmann of Jamestown, along with Ambers were transported to Jamestown Regional Medical Center by Jamestown Area Ambulance Service. Ambers was then taken by Life Flight to Sanford Hospital, in Fargo.<\/p>\n<p>Both occupants were wearing seat belts. Ambers was charged with DUI. Assisting at the scene were the Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Office, Jamestown Police, and the Jamestown Fire Department.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>VALLEY CITY, N.D. (AP Jul 13, 2012) &#8211; A North Dakota college student who went missing for nearly a week before turning up in Arizona says she hada bout of amnesia and didn&#8217;t know who she was.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Twenty-two-year-old Valley City State University student Amber<\/p>\n<p>Glatt vanished on the Fourth of July, prompting aerial searches.<\/p>\n<p>She contacted her mother five days later from the Grand Canyon. Her<\/p>\n<p>mother says Glatt has had recurring amnesia since suffering a head<\/p>\n<p>injury years ago.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Glatt says after she lost her memory she met a man in a bar who let her tag along on his trip to the Grand Canyon. She says the man eventually saw online that<\/p>\n<p>she&#8217;d been reported missing and alerted her.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Glatt says she regained most of her memory on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND\u00a0 (KCSi-T.V. News)\u00a0 &#8212;\u00a0 The James River Humane Society reminds everybody, that the Hogs for Dogs fundraiser will be held on Saturday July 28, 2012. Registration is at 9:30am, with alight breakfast served.\u00a0 Registration is $15 per bike The bike run also includes a grill-out at Stutsman Harley Davidson.\u00a0\u00a0 A light breakfast will be served before run at .\u00a0 There will also be a hot dog eating contest, and a hog calling contest.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday\u2019s (Jul 13, 2012) Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, James River Humane Society President, Jennifer Barnard said, donate any pet item that week and get a 15% off discount on all items at Stutsman Harley Davidson, excluding bikes. She pointed out that fun activities will be\u00a0 happening at the stops.<\/p>\n<p>She said the grill-out starts at 10:30am and goes until 1:30pm.<\/p>\n<p>The bike run is sponsored by\u00a0 Stutsman Harley Davidson and the HOG Chapter.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Barnard added that the shelter will have a booth at Crazy Days, on July 27, 2012, serving root beer floats. She thanked Coburn\u2019s for asking as to be a part of this fun day.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>She said that the there is still a need of pet cemetery volunteers for lawn maintenance and upkeep.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Other upconing fundrasiers include, Hugo\u2019s having their fundraiser for JRHS\u00a0 this month. Donate $1 at the register and when buying Pepsi products some of that goes back to JRHS. The shelter\u2019s\u00a0 picture boards are also on display.\u00a0 Pet supplies can be put in the drop box.<\/p>\n<p>Lloyd\u2019s Toyota will also be doing a fundraiser for starting in August, with\u00a0 more details coming soon.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>With the hot weather, Ms. Barnard reminds pet owners to have enough water for the pets and give them enough shade when being outside. \u2026and of course she reminds pet owners to spay and neuter pets, which is one of\u00a0 the JRHS\u2019s main focuses. News)\u00a0 &#8212;\u00a0 Jamestown,\u2019s Downtown Crazy Day is just around the corner, July 27, 2012.\u00a0\u00a0 The Jamestown Main Street Downtown Association, is looking to bring back the lustre of the great Crazy Days Jamestown was known for years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Ambassador Charlie Kourajian says, the Downtown Association is<\/p>\n<p>making a big push to get more merchants and vendors to display and sell on Main Street and supplementing them with quality entertainment. (AP) &#8211; The reward fund for a cattle shooting near<\/p>\n<p>Hankinson in May has grown to $4,100.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The fund was started after 13 cows and a calf were gunned down<\/p>\n<p>in David Kluge&#8217;s pasture near the North and South Dakota border.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The North Dakota Stockmen&#8217;s Association says it recently<\/p>\n<p>received $500 donations from Ransom Angus of Rutland, Sundance Farm<\/p>\n<p>Distributing of Hankinson, Wade and Lynn Moser of Bismarck, and<\/p>\n<p>Leona Bush of Bismarck.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Richard Clise (klys) of Camano Island, Wash., was the first<\/p>\n<p>person to contribute to the fund. (AP) &#8211; Officials say lightning struck a<\/p>\n<p>saltwater tank near Williston causing the contents and the tank to<\/p>\n<p>burn.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Williston Rural Fire Department responded to the blaze last<\/p>\n<p>week.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fire Chief Dave Benth tells the Dickinson Press that the<\/p>\n<p>fiberglass tank held a mixture of gas and saltwater. When the<\/p>\n<p>lightning struck the tank, the gas caught on fire, causing the tank<\/p>\n<p>to burn.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Saltwater is a byproduct of oil production.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A proposed budget for North Dakota&#8217;s<\/p>\n<p>colleges includes $10 million to help ease the impact of oil<\/p>\n<p>development in Williston and Dickinson.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The presidents of Williston State College and Dickinson State<\/p>\n<p>University say the oil boom in western North Dakota is making it<\/p>\n<p>tougher to find and keep employees.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 They say student housing is short and there are some security<\/p>\n<p>concerns because of the influx of new workers.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Legislature will have to decide whether to provide the<\/p>\n<p>money. (AP) &#8211; An analyst says North Dakota should try<\/p>\n<p>harder to recruit women to run for state offices and the<\/p>\n<p>Legislature, and to serve on state boards and commissions.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Linda Wurtz says North Dakota would get economic and public<\/p>\n<p>policy benefits from having women in a more prominent role.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Wurtz wrote a report on the status of women for the North Dakota<\/p>\n<p>Women&#8217;s Network. It says North Dakota has only one female elected<\/p>\n<p>statewide official. Only about 15 percent of legislators are women.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Wurtz says there&#8217;s already a state law that requires more gender<\/p>\n<p>balance on state boards and commissions, and it should be taken<\/p>\n<p>more seriously.
