{"id":45282,"date":"2014-05-08T10:35:17","date_gmt":"2014-05-08T15:35:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=45282"},"modified":"2014-05-11T11:35:31","modified_gmt":"2014-05-11T16:35:31","slug":"airport-readying-for-skywest-service-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=45282","title":{"rendered":"Airport Readying For SkyWest Service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/skywestCRJ2005.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-33807\" alt=\"skywestCRJ2005\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/skywestCRJ2005-300x200.png\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/skywestCRJ2005-300x200.png 300w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/skywestCRJ2005-262x175.png 262w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/skywestCRJ2005.png 445w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On Thursday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2 Leitner said the SkyWest, United Airline service schedule is posted at the airport\u2019s web site: <a title=\"FlyJamestown\" href=\"http:\/\/flyjamestown.net\" target=\"_blank\">FlyJamestown.Net<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"SkyWest\" href=\"http:\/\/skywest.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">SkyWest\u00a0<\/a>will have the flight schedule available on their web site<\/p>\n<p>He added that as of Thursday 275 boardings have been made through local travel agents, or on line at \u00a0<a title=\"SkyWest\/United Express\" href=\"http:\/\/www.united.com\/web\/en-US\/default.aspx?root=1\" target=\"_blank\">SkyWest\/United Express<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Leitner noted that an Open House at the airport will be on June 20, 2014, with more information to be released later.<\/p>\n<p>Leitner pointed out that Jamestown Regional Airport has received grant funding from the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission in the amount of $241,400 dollars.<\/p>\n<p>The dollars will be used for upcoming projects including, airfield crack sealing and marking, the purchase of a new rescue and fire truck, wetland mitigation reduction and construction, the environmental assessment for jet service, and construction of a t-hangar building.<\/p>\n<p>Leitner said the bid is under review for the construction of an 8-unit hangar at $580,000 with officials to put together the financing package.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the new fire and rescue truck with a capacity of 1,500 gallons will replace the truck now in use, with the price tag of $750,000. The state will pick up five percent, and the local share, also five percent is $37,500. The present unit will be traded in for the new truck.\u00a0 He said the present ARFF truck is fully operational and meets all of the requirements for the 50-seat CRJ-200. He said the airport would like to be proactive should Jamestown\u2019s commercial air service be enhanced in the future, such as a 70 or 90-seat regional jet.
