Mark Urquhart said the sparks from the transformer did not cause a fire.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/otppoweroutagetsc.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-48896\" alt=\"otppoweroutagetsc\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/otppoweroutagetsc-300x200.png\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/otppoweroutagetsc-300x200.png 300w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/otppoweroutagetsc-261x175.png 261w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/otppoweroutagetsc.png 445w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The fire units were on the scene less than 30-minutes, as crews from Otter Tail Power Company were sent to the scene.<\/p>\n<p>980 customers were affected by the outage.\u00a0 The power was restored at 4:08 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>The National Weather Service placed Jamestown and Valley City in a Wind Advisory at 3:50-p.m., which was allowed to expire early Saturday evening.\u00a0 The Jamestown weather station recorded a peak wind gust of 41 mph in the 4-p.m. hour.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At 4:30-p.m., Saturday, the Law Enforcement Center in Jamestown said a wind gust caused a tree to topple damaging two\u00a0vehicles near 2nd Avenue and 10th Street Northwest.<\/p>\n<p>A flash flood watch expired Saturday evening, with .05 of an inch of rain recorded on Saturday, and .10 of an inch on the CSi weather computer in downtown Jamestown.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Officially 1.08 inches on Friday, .92 on the CSi weather computer.<\/p>\n<p>Today another wind advisory is in effect from 10-a.m. to 7-p.m.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown (Csi)\u00a0 A portion of Southeast Jamestown was without power Saturday afternoon, starting about 3:15 p.m.,\u00a0 when a high gust of wind broke a tree branch that struck an electrical transformer\u00a0 on a utility pole causing\u00a0the transformer to spark, and shut off power.
