Jamestown (CSi) \u00a0The Jamestown City Engineer’s Office reports that Fourth Avenue East viaduct\u00a0reopened <\/strong>\u00a0Monday morning about 11-O:Clock.<\/p>\n

Sediment (mud) was deposited on the street at the underpass,\u00a0from Saturday\u2019s torrential \u00a0rain.<\/p>\n

The slick surface had caused a male operator of a motorcycle to lose control of his bike, there.<\/p>\n

He and his female passenger were taken to the Jamestown Regional Medical Center for treatment\u00a0\u00a0of their injuries.<\/p>\n

The accident remains under investigation.<\/p>\n

The torrential rain event occurred during a weather system that passed through the area between about 4-p.m. an 10-p.m.\u00a0 Saturday. Three inches of rain fell between 4-p.m., and 5-p.m.<\/p>\n

The National Weather Service Office in Bismarck\u00a0 cancelled the flash flood warning for east central Stutsman County, on Saturday\u00a0 at 10:30-p.m.<\/p>\n

Among flooded and closed streets was the viaduct on Fourth Avenue East, and the Third Street area between Fifth Avenue and Seventh Avenue Southeast.<\/p>\n

\"FloodAug16SEJmst\"<\/a>Jamestown Police reported that a family had to leave their home Saturday \u00a0after a basement wall collapsed on Third Street Southeast between Fifth and Seventh Avenues.<\/p>\n

Saturday, police reported cars stalled on Jamestown streets and a tree down in the 900 block of 2nd Street Northeast, with 3-6-inches of water over streets.<\/p>\n

Late Saturday afternoon to late evening Saurday the\u00a0CSi weather computer, at Historic Franklin in downtown Jamestown,\u00a0 recorded 5.39-inches of rain.<\/p>\n

The Jamestown weather station recorded 1.27 .<\/p>\n

Other Jamestown reports showed 2.3 to 2.5 inches fell. Carrington rported a half inch of reported precipitation.<\/p>\n

\u00a0More than 15 homes in Dunn County were flooded. KXMB-TV reports that state game wardens early Saturday had to use a boat to rescue Inky and Clara Paulson when Knife River floodwaters poured into their home, forcing them onto the roof.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
