{"id":52419,"date":"2014-08-17T20:51:31","date_gmt":"2014-08-18T01:51:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=52419"},"modified":"2014-08-19T19:36:17","modified_gmt":"2014-08-20T00:36:17","slug":"viaduct-closed-sediment-sat-flooding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=52419","title":{"rendered":"Sat flooding update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown (CSi) \u00a0The Jamestown City Engineer&#8217;s Office reports that <strong>Fourth Avenue East viaduct\u00a0reopened <\/strong>\u00a0Monday morning about 11-O:Clock.<\/p>\n<p>Sediment (mud) was deposited on the street at the underpass,\u00a0from Saturday\u2019s torrential \u00a0rain.<\/p>\n<p>The slick surface had caused a male operator of a motorcycle to lose control of his bike, there.<\/p>\n<p>He and his female passenger were taken to the Jamestown Regional Medical Center for treatment\u00a0\u00a0of their injuries.<\/p>\n<p>The accident remains under investigation.<\/p>\n<p>The torrential rain event occurred during a weather system that passed through the area between about 4-p.m. an 10-p.m.\u00a0 Saturday. Three inches of rain fell between 4-p.m., and 5-p.m.<\/p>\n<p>The National Weather Service Office in Bismarck\u00a0 cancelled the flash flood warning for east central Stutsman County, on Saturday\u00a0 at 10:30-p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Among flooded and closed streets was the viaduct on Fourth Avenue East, and the Third Street area between Fifth Avenue and Seventh Avenue Southeast.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/FloodAug16SEJmst.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-52415\" alt=\"FloodAug16SEJmst\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/FloodAug16SEJmst-300x198.png\" width=\"300\" height=\"198\" srcset=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/FloodAug16SEJmst-300x198.png 300w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/FloodAug16SEJmst-264x175.png 264w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/FloodAug16SEJmst.png 440w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Jamestown Police reported that a family had to leave their home Saturday \u00a0after a basement wall collapsed on Third Street Southeast between Fifth and Seventh Avenues.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday, police reported cars stalled on Jamestown streets and a tree down in the 900 block of 2nd Street Northeast, with 3-6-inches of water over streets.<\/p>\n<p>Late Saturday afternoon to late evening Saurday the\u00a0CSi weather computer, at Historic Franklin in downtown Jamestown,\u00a0 recorded 5.39-inches of rain.<\/p>\n<p>The Jamestown weather station recorded 1.27 .<\/p>\n<p>Other Jamestown reports showed 2.3 to 2.5 inches fell. Carrington rported a half inch of reported precipitation.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0More than 15 homes in Dunn County were flooded.
