(AP) &#8211; North Dakota has a new commissioner of labor and human rights.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Gov. Jack Dalrymple on Friday appointed Assistant Attorney General Troy Thomas Seibel to the position. Seibel will begin his tenure as the head of the Department of Labor and Human Rights Oct. 1.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He has been an assistant attorney general for more than a decade. He previously was a partner at a private law firm and has experience in several areas including civil litigation and family law.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Seibel will lead an agency with 12 staff members and a two-year budget of nearly $2 million.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Outgoing Commissioner Bonnie Storbakken was the leader of the department for 15 months.
