Dorothy Van Ornum, 87, of Edgeley, ND, died Monday, October 15, 2012 at Our Lady of Peace Cancer Center in St. Paul, MN.<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Dorothy was born January 29, 1925, in Kent, OH, the daughter of Era and Louise (Dormaier) Littrick.\u00a0 She lived in Cuyahoga Falls, OH and attended Lincoln Elementary and graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School.\u00a0 Dorothy attended Mt. Union College in 1942 in Alliance, OH.\u00a0 On July 16, 1944, she and Elbert Hiel Van Ornum were engaged and married on September 20, 1945.\u00a0 After living in Cuyahoga Falls for a short time, they moved to the Arthur Van Ornum farm near Berlin, ND in 1948.\u00a0 They settled on their own farm in 1954 near Berlin where they raised their three children and a nephew, Thomas Frederick.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Dorothy was a member of Federated Women\u2019s Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Order of Eastern Star, Beauceant, Berlin Birthday Club, Hmemakers, Bridge Club, Community of Christ Church, Church choir, Deborah Circle, United Methodist Women, and Alpha Chi Omega.<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Dorothy is survived by her three children, Marilyn (fianc\u00e9, David Johnson) Van Ornum, Minneapolis, MN, Joanne (Thomas Heck) Lerud-Heck, Arvada, CO, and Barry (Shelia) Van Ornum, Woodbury, MN; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one sister, Jane Roppolo.<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n


\nFuneral Service:<\/strong><\/em> 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Edgeley.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Visitation:<\/strong><\/em> 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday, October 19, 2012 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Prayer Service:<\/strong><\/em> 7:30 p.m., Friday, October 19, 2012 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Edgeley.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Interment:<\/strong><\/em> Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, ND.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
