(AP) &#8211; The state Health Department says six North Dakota pharmacies or clinics have received products from a Massachusetts company associated with a national meningitis<br \/>\noutbreak.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The department has informed facilities in Williston, Fargo and Grand Forks of new federal recommendations on New England Compounding Co. products.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Only three lots of medications, none of which were shipped to<br \/>\nNorth Dakota, were originally implicated in the outbreak. But the<br \/>\nHealth Department says additional cases of meningitis reported in<br \/>\nother states indicate other medications may also be causing<br \/>\nmeningitis.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Health Department is endorsing federal recommendations that<br \/>\nhealth-care providers notify any patients who may have received any<br \/>\ninjectable or ophthalmic medication produced or purchased on or<br \/>\nafter May 21, and advise them to seek care if they develop symptoms<br \/>\nof meningitis or joint infection.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BISMARCK, N.D.
