(AP) \u2013 The mayor of the small southeastern North Dakota town of Forbes is accused of removing a campaign sign from private property.<\/p>\n<p>Dennis Schrum is charged with criminal trespass, criminal mischief, theft and disorderly conduct. All of the charges are misdemeanors that carry a maximum punishment of about a month in jail.<\/p>\n<p>Dickey County Sheriff Jim Bohannon tells the American News of Aberdeen\u00a0 that Schrum allegedly removed a campaign sign for one of two deputies seeking to succeed Bohannon, who isn\u2019t running for re-election.<\/p>\n<p>Schrum is scheduled to make his initial court appearance on Nov. 18. Court documents don\u2019t list an attorney for him. He did not immediately respond to an Associated Press request for comment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FORBES, N.D.
