ALTHOUGH CHANCES OF \u00a0PRECIPITATION LOOK HIGH\u2026AMOUNTS LOOK LOW.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0DANGEROUS WIND CHILLS AROUND 30 BELOW ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS THE<br \/>\n\u00a0AREA SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY MORNING.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Updates with winners&#8230;..<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) The 2014 Holiday Dazzle Parade, in Jamestown was held Friday evening along 1<sup>st<\/sup> Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>Before the parade started floats were judged at the starting area at McElroy Park.<\/p>\n<p>Trophies were awarded and $100 cash given out for the best floats in the categories of :<\/p>\n<p>Best Dazzle, won by, Triumph, Inc.<\/p>\n<p>Most Original Theme, won by, James River Correctional Center<\/p>\n<p>Most Outstanding Amateur Built, won by, Sons of Norway<\/p>\n<p>Most Outstanding Civic or Non-Profit, won by, The Girl Scouts<\/p>\n<p>The Jamestown Community Christmas tree lighting outside the Jamestown Civic Center, was held after the parade, preceded with a short program.<\/p>\n<p>Following the tree lighting the After Parade Party was at the Gladstone Inn &amp; Suites, with cookies provided by Hugo\u2019s and entertainment by the Jamestown Choralaires.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The parade was recorded by CSi 10 THE REPLAY CHANNEL, with replays during the holiday season.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u3000CSi The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports one person was killed Wednesday evening about 8:30 on Highway 281 about 4 miles south of Edgeley in a rear-end collission.<\/p>\n<p>The report says, the asphalt roadway at that location and time was covered in compacted snow and ice.<\/p>\n<p>A southbound white 2002 Chevrolet Suburban rear-ended a southbound red 1997 Freightliner semi that was pulling a flatbed trailer, loaded with a piece of heavy equipment.<\/p>\n<p>The Suburban was driven by 38 year old Jason Michael Tolbert, of Minot, and the front seat passenger was 34 Joel Kennard Little, of Minot. Both Tolbert and Little were unrestrained, and sustained injuries during the crash.<\/p>\n<p>The Freightliner semi was driven by 54 year old Darrell Gene Schrum, of Ellendale. He was not injured in the crash. Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in the crash, and the driver of the Suburban was placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.<\/p>\n<p>Joel Kennard Little succumbed to his injuries sustained in the crash on Thursday. The North Dakota Highway patrol is still investigating the circumstances of this crash.<\/p>\n<p>Assisting the Highway Patrol was the LaMoure County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) Ave Maria Village in Jamestown has sent out its Thanksgiving Appeal in the community.<br \/>\nOn Friday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Ave Maria Village, Development Director, Jan Barnes, poined out, that, a matching gift of $5,000 has been met, and another $10,000 matching gift has been received, with $3,200 left toward fulfilling that match. She says gifts sent now will be doubled.<\/p>\n<p>All proceeds go toward the Ave Maria Capital Campaign to go toward paying for the new chapel, all-weather garage and the McCoy Family End-of-Life Suite. She said the least the appeal can bring in is $30,000 toward the new chapel. (AP) &#8211; The residents of a North Dakota community are lending a hand to each other after a massive main break affected 200 homes and businesses.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0 An area of heavy and persistent groundwater has caused the failure of an older clay sewer main serving a 26-block area in Bowman. The main is now out of service and residents are under a water-use restriction.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 People are using public showers and the commercial laundromat, and residents who were not affected by the main break have opened their homes for others.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mayor Lyn James says workers on Monday will remove the groundwater that&#8217;s causing the excavated soils to slump. But, James says, there&#8217;s no timeline set for when the problem will be fully fixed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Bismarck police are searching for a man who allegedly assaulted five people in a mobile home, at least one of whom was attacked with a baseball bat.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities issued a search warrant for 57-year-old Richard Gourneau Sr. on Wednesday, after he allegedly sent two adults and three juveniles to the hospital. Police say Gourneau is the ex-boyfriend of one of the victims.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Gourneau faces aggravated assault and simple assault charges. He could face more than 20 years in prison if caught and convicted. Court documents don&#8217;t list an attorney for him.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Police also are searching for a car that was being used by one of the people who was assaulted. Authorities say the Honda Accord with North Dakota license plate JMC190 was stolen after the person was hospitalized.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem (STEN&#8217;-juhm) says there&#8217;s been a surge in calls received by residents and reported to his office about a telephone scam in which perpetrators pose as IRS agents.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Stenehjem says the con artists are pretending to be Internal Revenue Service agents and accuse residents of tax fraud. Stenehjem adds the scammers claim the only way victims can avoid being arrested is by buying pre-paid cash cards and then reading back the cards&#8217; numbers to the caller.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Stenehjem is reminding residents to never confirm or provide personal information during a scam call. He is also asking residents to not try to &#8220;play along&#8221; with the scam artist.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Federal authorities believe the calls originate from outside the United States.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Shoppers are hitting stores throughout the Dakotas to take advantage of Black Friday deals, but some say they&#8217;ve found the scene a bit calmer than in previous years.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Shawna Steen, of Maplewood, Minnesota, tells The Associated Press that Black Friday is an annual outing in Fargo for her and her sisters. But she says this year&#8217;s event was remarkably quiet, and she speculates that a lot of people did their shopping on Thursday.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The day after Thanksgiving is generally considered the kickoff to the holiday shopping season. People lined up outside stores throughout the Dakotas early Friday. The man fired more than 100 rounds at downtown buildings, including the police headquarters, before he was shot by police and died. No one else was hurt.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 DELLWOOD, Mo. (AP) &#8211; The mayor of a town neighboring Ferguson, Missouri, is calling on state and federal officials to help rebuild following an outbreak of violent protests that destroyed businesses. Dellwood Mayor Reggie Jones said Friday that while much attention has focused on Ferguson, most of the businesses that were looted and burned were in his town. The violence on Monday followed a grand jury&#8217;s decision not to indict Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson in the August shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown. Jones also called on state leaders to explain why the National Guard wasn&#8217;t deployed to help protect Dellwood, as was done in Ferguson.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 NEW YORK (AP) &#8211; People who are opposed to the idea of shopping on Thanksgiving may be missing out on the best bargains. Some shoppers this morning were finding that the sale items they were looking for had all been purchased by people taking advantage of the Thanksgiving evening shopping hours. One Arizona woman shopping with her mother was looking through a shelf of Monster High dolls, but couldn&#8217;t find the one her daughter wanted. She said, &#8220;It&#8217;s kind of a bummer.&#8221;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) &#8211; The coach of the Ohio State University football team says he&#8217;s praying that a missing football player is found soon and safely. The family of defensive tackle Kosta Karageorge reported him missing yesterday after he left his apartment, then uncharacteristically missed two practices. His sister tells the Columbus Dispatch that he has a history of sports-related concussions, and his family was concerned that he might have become disoriented.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 BOSTON (AP) &#8211; The highest court in Massachusetts is getting set to hear arguments next week in a Second Amendment case involving stun guns. The court is being asked to decide whether a state law that prohibits private citizens from possessing those weapons infringes on their right to keep and bear arms. The case involves a homeless woman who&#8217;d been beaten badly by her ex-boyfriend, and was given a stun guy by a friend to protect herself.
