{"id":65503,"date":"2015-02-16T07:42:29","date_gmt":"2015-02-16T13:42:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=65503"},"modified":"2015-02-16T13:15:24","modified_gmt":"2015-02-16T19:15:24","slug":"chs-looking-for-plants-water-source","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=65503","title":{"rendered":"CHS looking for plant&#8217;s water source"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Spiritwood-Energy-Park-161x161.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-58117\" alt=\"Spiritwood-Energy-Park-161x161\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Spiritwood-Energy-Park-161x161.jpg\" width=\"161\" height=\"161\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) Officials with the CHS fertilizer plant \u00a0say they will continue\u00a0 with plans to build the $3 billion dollar plant, as they look for a local water source for operations.<\/p>\n<p>The State Water Commission, which evaluates the availability of water and issues permits, said many of the water rights for the area already had been allocated.<\/p>\n<p>Cenex Harvest States Pipeline LLC President John Traeger has met with the Bismarck City Commission to ask for approval of a study for a possible pipeline project.<\/p>\n<p>CHS would like to purchase water from Bismarck&#8217;s water treatment plant or lease a portion of capacity from the city&#8217;s old water intake on the river.<\/p>\n<p>He says if a pipeline is not feasible other options will be looked at.<\/p>\n<p>The CHS plant at Spiritwood will produce more than 2,400 tons per day of anhydrous ammonia, and the converted to urea, for the fertilizer compound, urea-ammonium nitrate and diesel exhaust fuel.<\/p>\n<p>It is one of two proposed fertilizer plants in the state expected to open within the next few years, the other, is a plant proposed by Dakota Gasification to produce urea at its Great Plains Synfuels Plant near Beulah.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown (CSi) Officials with the CHS fertilizer plant \u00a0say they will continue\u00a0 with plans to build the $3 billion dollar plant, as they look for a local water source for operations.
